I thought this was really interesting and it actually got a chuckle out of me, which is a lot more than I can say about a bunch of the new shows that have suddenly popped up (Jimquisition, Pro Gamer Gauntlet, Drinking Games, No Right Answer).

As much as this guy might fit in, though, I don't think it'd be a good idea to introduce ANOTHER new show on to the site.
Yeah, but he could always do a written column? I mean It might just be me but I read all of Yahtzee's Extra Punctuation columns and would love some more good written sections on the site.

That's actually not a bad idea. There's certainly more room for written columns from my perspective. I usually find Yahtzee's columns more interesting than his actual videos.

Eh, sure why not? He seems like a nice guy. And if we don't like him we can just not watch his videos. Everybody wins! Or something like that.

Wait, did he actually talk about Pokemon at one point?
No, he didn't. It's a poor show to be honest and nothing about it seemed remotely decent. It was just random waffling in order to make its over exaggeration funny.
That show was supposed to be funny?
I liked the "antique" video material and like I said I think he'd make a great educational video commentator. But if he wants to be a game critique he'd better start actually talking about what's in the title.

Seeing as he's done work for IGN he doesn't deserve a proper job in the gaming industry
Please, please tell me you were intending this to be at least somewhat tongue-in-cheek.

As soon as IGN was mentioned, I figured it wouldn't be entertaining considering these are the same people who think putting that monotone Chobot thing in videos all the time (side note: why are those awful videos on my 360's dashboard?) is a good idea.

After watching the linked video, I feel I was right. He didn't even talk about Pokémon and instead was rambling about unrelated stuff. I tend to like my gaming videos to talk about gaming in some way, not just show a game box at the start and then rant about something completely unrelated. It actually crossed my mind to flag the video for having a misleading title because it's not about Pokémon at all (don't worry, I didn't; mostly because YouTube wouldn't actually delete it because it's not infringing on anyone's copyrights and that's all they care about).

Maybe I linked a bad example of the video, I agree, but I still found it entertaining, the Pokemon video was just the one I happened to be watching.

I thought you guys were done wrongfully hating on Jim Sterling.
Nothing wrong about it, it's terrible.

OT: No, cos the youtube video had an advert on it and I'm fickle like that. Seriously though, didn't watch past the advert, it's late here and the sound is disproportionately loud.
Explain what's wrong with his recent episodes plz
I watched the first four maybe before I stopped exposing myself to it. Why would I continue watching something that I don't like? Vote with your wallet, or in this instance, your time.

Well, the important question is: Does he WANT to join the Escapist? Or are we speculating wildly with starry-eyed hope in our eyes? 'Cos I'm down with that =P

He was pretty funny and I much prefer his type of humour[footnote]Disclaimer: Opinion based solely on this video.[/footnote] to Jim Sterling's, although I personally think ole Jim has improved a lot since his début here. But what type of show - should he ever join - would this fellah have that the Escapist hasn't already got?

Well, he'd probably want a job, and the Escapist is a big site. It all depends on if the Escapist managers hear of him and if he is down with the Escapist and such.

Indeed he is. With a lot better language as well.
So yeah, bring him in is what i say.
He could have a nice little corner to vent off on stuff once a week.
Sterling > lisa iles. I watched some episodes, I just didnt see what she had to offer and why people watched.
Why can't both Lisa and Jim be horrible?
Because jim is slightly better becuase his videos atlest have something to say. Thy both suck, but lets be honest Lisa was worse, yet I saw few people compain, not as much as Jim anyway.
Lisa was way better. At least she was entertaining and had some ideas on how to keep episodes fresh, while Jim is plain boring and dull.

Agreed. Even if it's just a persona, Jim is an arrogant fuck and I don't like that - I thought the whole point of pretending to be something your not was to make yourself look better...

OT: I watched this three times in a row and kept laughing.

"I'm hungrier than logic"... lol

Genius! Get him here, now!

Yes, but it still kind puts the ball in his court. We have no idea whether or not he has a job or not (although someone mentioned he was working for OXM UK) and we have no idea whether he wants to be member of the Escapist community or not; this won't change regardless of how many vote yea for him in this poll.

Unless you're thinking of forwarding the results of the poll to him if it's in favour to see what he thinks? Ooooh, do that. I approve of the creepy stalkerish nature of it =3

In all honesty I just wanted to see how people reacted to him, I mean I enjoy his videos but I wanted to see if I was in the minority, as people on YouTube are... well lets be generous and not make generalizations. His videos didn't have that many views so I thought I might as well bring it to a few extra people :D
