Im not a hippy by any means(Im going into the military) but I think we should, why?

Money thats why, we spend so much trying to get rid of something that does way less damage then tobacco and alcohol, and its something we could tax and put the money to good use, we would also cut a lot of funding to street gangs.

The people who really want to do the drugs are doing them now, you wouldn't really see a huge increase in drug usage. Add that they'd be regulated.

Add that companies wouldn't hire anyone tested positive of drugs anyway, so that would be a big incentive to not use.

No, definately not. People act like because it's slightly less damaging than tobacco it should be just as legal. Here's your solution: Ban them both, and let the people who need these things to be satisfied with life get a decent hobby.

On one hand I feel that I should say "Yes, let people make their own decisions about what they ingest." However, the other part wants to escalate the War on Drugs to a real war. We could pay some PMCs, have them hit the major producers. Having PMC owned aircraft strafe poppy plantations and drug smuggling compounds would be amazing.

Everyone says that we should legalize it for the money, but it's really only part of the reason. It should be legal because it doesn't hurt anything. We shouldn't be concentrating on something that has practically no ill effects on society. The ill effects it does have, can be solved simply by legalizing it. They say when someone buys it from a dealer, the funding eventually gets back to Al Qaeda. I don't know how, considering most of the dealers I've ever seen grow it themselves, but even still, if it's legal, companies start to sell it, and no more funding terrorists.

I have never smoked it, never will even if it is legal. However, some of my family has, and even some of my friends in high school. I never say effects from it.

It should happen, and not just for the tax benefits. The much, much bigger advantage is the fact that pot currently accounts for the lion's share of money going to organized crime, and that eliminating the revenue stream for organized crime inevitably causes a drastic decrease in the ill effects of organized crime.

Seriously, you can't just google "marjuania" and then state facts in this thread about it's harmful effects or completely safeness. Get some experience before you develop an opinion for or against anything. I hate when nubs come in here saying "you're all gonna die if you use drugs. Everyone knows drug users are not normal people with jobs and families".
