Internet poll decises your friendship. Seriously. An internet poll. In-ter-net poll.

Think, man. Think.
Oh fuck, i forgot. Everyone on the internet is a complete dumbass and their advice shouldnt be given a second thought. Thanks for reminding me.

No, we are people, and this is a good way to get opinions. And im sure we are not deciding this for him. He most likley will stay friends with them.
Correct; we are dumbass people who give dumbass advices, which is actually pretty enlighting, if you dont happen to be dumbass yourself. But yeah okay.

I hold nothing against homosexuals as I am quite gay for Dante. All jokes aside I personally wouldn't stay friends with this guy, it would be easier to walk away. But if you really care about him try to make him see that he is old-fashioned and needs to stop being so closed-minded.

Eh. Stay friends if you like, and just don't talk to him about the gay thing, or let him know your feelings on it and hang with some of your other friends more.

Whether or not you should stay friends depends on how important your friendship is. What drew you to this person in the first place? 1 major disagreement isn't enough to break up a friendship. Try explaining to your friend about your uncles and the fact that his use of the term "gay" as an insult is offensive to you and ask him to please respect that and not use it around you. If he's a really friend, he'll be able to respect your feelings and your difference of opinion enough to stop. Otherwise, he's probably not worth being friends with.

Does he know that you have gay uncles?
If yes, he was being a real asshole.
If no, he was still being a jerk, but he probably didn't mean offense.

Just because you don't share the same opinions doesn't mean that he's less of a friend. What matters is you two. Only that. What you think and how you act towards others shouldn't be in the way for your friendship.

How does your friend treat you?
Differing opinions is healthy, it'd be pretty boring if everyone i was friends with agreed on everything.
However actively hating someone or a particular group, and wishing death upon them is unacceptable.

Would you be friends with Hitler just because he was nice to YOU personally?

Sensationalist hyperbole aside, how you act towards other people pretty much defines you as a person, so yes that should definatly be something that is taken into account when deciding who you want as a friend

There's nothing, NOTHING I hate more than an anti-sodomite. That kind of behavior is unacceptable. Sex with the same sex? no, no thank you, but thank you for offering just the same.

I thought the same as your friend once but then i asked myself why did i think that, i came with no answer then stopped the hate which was probably due some religious bs that infected me or something, anyway if he can't change his mind and that bothers you dump his ass.

are you absolutely sure he wasn't joking? I have a gay stepbrother and my friends say shit like that all the time, they sound serious but they don't mean it

I have gay relatives as well and often they get made fun of. The whole "death to gays" seem overzealous but let him know how you feel and maybe you can work past it.

Love is blind. That's my philosophy.pp
Tell me, why exactly is it unacceptable? Did his views change him as a person? Isn't he still the same guy he was the day before?
Seems like we have different opinions regarding this.
