Poll: Should Wrestling Be Dropped

I had no idea they dropped wrestling. I had to go online just to see any clips of any form of combat sport last time... they can't spare like 15 minutes of swimming to show wrestling or judo?

Can we replace it with Unreal Tournament? Time to bring the olympics into the modern age.

This post made my day. I can't wait for Starcraft to get added, and then removed because the US is sad that it can't win.

They are dropping Wrestling in favour of sports that they feel will attract more viewers. The issue I have with this is twofold:

1) For wrestling the olympics is the sport's pinnacle. Some of the other sports they are bringing in have popular and well-defined pro-curcuits and world tornaments already (tennis, soccer, golf). One of the things I like about the Olympics is it's a chance to watch a bunch of sports played a high-level that I normally don't see.

2) Wrestling is sport with a high-pedigree. It is both ancient and original to the Olympics but also requires a lot of athletic ability (strength, flexibility and endurance).

It seems like it should remain.

One word - curling.

MAN DON'T START

Curling is the greatest sport ever invented. I could be a olympic curler! Provided, you know, I could find some of those rock things, and some brooms, and an ice rink, none of which I know the actual location of, but whatever!

I can literally forgo personal hygiene and sleep for days while I lay on the couch drinking, eating cheetos, and watching curling.

The true spirit of the olympics.

I actually came here to say that we needed to get rid of that lame wrestling years ago and switch completely to hardcore WWE wrestling.

I agree with this man, it's time the Olympics get some true wrestling. Heck, I don't know why they didn't switch sooner, the WWE embodies the spirit of the Olympics; Hustle, Loyalty, Respect.

you know, it being 2013 with most of the world living more civilized. you'd think we'd get rid of this shit a long time ago but no, humans love blood, that lovely vibrant crimson.
