Single Player all the way, single player makes or breaks a game in my opinion, maybe thats just because i hate people in general and i prefer playing against the computer rather than people online

It depends on the game for me. Certain games I buy for the solo aspect and campaign, such as all my Command & Conquer games or Company of Heroes. Certain others I buy for the multipler, like L4D2.

So it really depends from game-to-game.

My most played game is TF2; (270 hours)
So does that mean multiplayer?
EDIT;
I do like a few of singleplayer games (eg. the Half Life series, Ass Creed, The Elder Scrolls, the Mass Effects, etc.) but multiplayer is where the majority of my time is spent.

i like them both for different reasons.

liek single player i can always play but sometimes multiplayer, depending on popularity can only be played at certain times.

also multiplay can have some good people or some real jerks playing with you so the expirence varies alot.

I'm a campaigner.

Multiplayer co-op games I don't mind, but most campaigns are single-player as it is so yeah...

Always singleplayer. Multiplayer brings out the worst in this already horrific species we call Humanity.

Multiplayer is a fun distraction or long term hook, but I generally prefer the singleplayer of games. Be it the stories, or the world it's set in. Like Red Dead Redemption. I love to mess about with friend online, but ig I wanna feel like a cowboy then it's singleplayer all the way.

I have to say tho, I do love co-op. It's the greatest thing since the compact disc. So, WHY DOES EVERYONE KEEP TAKING IT OUT IF THEIR GAMES!??

I buy primarily for multiplayer, and by multiplayer I mean Co-op. Honestly Im done with competitive multiplayer after suffering through 3 call of duty games at a friends request.
I do always try to maintain atleast one or two solid single player games to pass the quiet days, usually RPG's, since Ive always had atleast one staple RPG ever since I started gaming.

Single player.
I'm down with the multiplayer, but only LAN, or the convenient console alternative split-screen/system link, online multiplayer is the bane of my existence (exaggerated). It's just not my cup of tea I guess.

The main things that deter me are the sheer volume of players, with such varied skill levels that don't seem to be matched too well, kinda takes the fun out of it you know and ah.. I don't have the mental capacity right now to come up with any other reasons, but I know they're there.
Also, under no circumstance should multiplayer be the bulk of the game, oh yeah, unless it's Quake or UT or even..
(Arcade fighting games, party games, colourful band simulations, the list goes on)
Okay so it certainly has its place.
Multiplayer games are perfectly alright with me, in fact I enjoy them rather a lot, I just prefer getting together with a close group of friends and having some old fashioned gaming fun together, it just has a different feel to it. So I guess just as long as they don't cut out LAN/split-screen/offline play it's fine for multiplayer focused titles to exist (Good thing I'm not an RTS fan or I'd be pissed about Starcraft)

Overall though, I prefer single player anyway.
