Just get both... I couldn't vote due to the survey making no sense.
Totally different style RPGs.
And god damn, am I sick of Dark Souls fanboys... yeah it's a good game, but again, it's so different from the aforementioned games, that there is no use comparing them side by side.
Elder Scrolls - Brilliant worlds, atmosphere, exploration, continuity of lore with its 15 year old franchise, and satisfying immersion.
Reckoning - Killer combat, great loot, character empowerment and a great fantasy story complete with very, very deep lore.
Dark Souls - Excellent gameplay mechanics, awesome challenge and a tense, gritty atmosphere - and probably the best visuals of the three.
None of them have exceedingly great characters..(I would give Reckoning the prize if I had to give one), but games like Mass Effect/TOR/Dragon Age kill it in the character category.. basically Bioware are the masters at creating characters.
Not long ago, RPGs were on the verge of death due to low sales and a general dislike in the mainstream for the genre (albeit a massive love for them in the niche that was RPG gamers during the low times), but now..
WOW.. Complete revival: RPGs are probably the kingpin in the gaming racket at this current time.. calling the shots.
Every genre is including RPG elements, and there are more RPGs than ever before, and they are selling like hot-cakes.
So Rejoice! And enjoy this renaissance of great gaming adventures.
So Huzzah! to the haters, I'm wearing my Golden Pantaloons.
Good times.
