If you have a PC that will run it this isn't a question. Even if only 1 mod out of 100 is decent its worth it. The only reason to get it on xbox or ps3 is if your computer can't handle it. I normally try to avoid sounding biased towards PC but this shouldn't even be a debate.

If you have a computer that can handle Skyrim then go for it, because mods will keep the game fun long after its release.

As expected, the glorious PC gaming master race by an overwhelming majority.

I've tried Bethesda games on a console and it's just absolutely wrong. Much too broken, buggy, and too heavily reliant on very narrow and constrained ideas. Modders, though a stingy pretentious bunch at times, are the wizards that take the misshapen clay and make it form and beauty. After having played a vanilla Fallout 3, then a modded Fallout 3, I simply refuse to accept whatever hobbling the console experience will have to offer.

If you have a choice, as in a good gaming rig, there's simply no reason to not play it on the PC. It would almost be like punishing yourself somehow. Why do that?

If your PC can run it then its a no brainer. Get it for the PC.
BUT if it cannot run it and you are in dire need of playing it then Xbox.
When you would have enough funds to buy a better PC then go for the PC version because by then many mods would have been released.

If your PC can run it, get it for the PC. The way things stand right now I'll probably be purchasing a new computer in a couple of weeks, so that's what I'll be doing as well. I kind of preferred the console controls in Oblivion to those of the PC version, so I'm still a little uncertain. Both, maybe? :D

If you have a good PC then definitely by it for PC. What with mods, better graphics, and being able to get good deals with future dlc on steam for it. If not buy it for Xbox, either way it will be a great game.

User created mods tend to suck.
Uh, no they don't. For Oblivion, a total conversion just came out that some people say is better than the actual game. Then there are mods that add entire countries with towns and quests, there's a dragon mount mod, some that re-balance combat and get rid of level scaling, a few that add detail and style to the environments, and of course all the custom equipment, etc.

OT: I think it should be obvious by now.
Oh no you didn't.

Way to out of contextualize there. What did I say underneath? Here's a paraphrase;

I said that it takes years for good mods to be released. How old is Oblivion now? 3? 4 years old? My point was just proven. Read the whole post next time.
...But it doesn't take that long. The ones I mentioned, other than the total conversion, all came out a long time ago. Hell, the rebalancing mods usually come within a week after release.

Games like Skyrim were meant to be played on the PC. If your computer can handle it get it for PC.

It depends if i'm going to get a new PC. If so, then PC. If not, then PS3 since there's a chance it's also getting mods anyway from what they told us.

PC. Mods.

Also I think the second choice on your poll should read Xbox.
Oh shit,I didn't think of mods when I voted. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
Ok,now that the dramatics are over, now that I remember mods PC does seem like the best option if your PC can run it. Crysis should be a good way to check if your PC can handle it,because if you can handle Crysis, you can handle anything.

Go PC if your computer can handle it. I'm gonna get it for Xbox 360 first, then get the PC copy later when they release the GotY version, like I did for Fallout 3.

PC, because I actually have a PC that can handle it this time around, unlike when Oblivion first came out.

definitely pc, seeing how I'm basically getting a new pc for skyrim. and because I need it. really, I do!

if I wasn't, I'd get it on the PS3 because this bucket of bolts can't handle it.

You have issues with caps, don't you? :p
OT: PC would definitely be better, but it also means more headaches in getting it to work, and some serious system requirements. Personally, I'm just going with Xbox. Or maybe PS3, if someone can prove to me that the blu-ray would make it significantly better.

PC- UI, Graphics, controls and of course all the mods. I'm betting that there's going to be one that lets you ride the dragons.

OH THATS NOT ALL, BUY NOW AND WE WILL THROW IN A TEXTURE PACK TO ADD VIBRANT LOOKS TO YOUR GAME, A FEW FIXES FROM THE ACTUAL GAMER, EASIER THIS AND THAT!

Hell, I'm more familiar with Fallout New Vegas mods, one was a texture, another adds what COULD BE a DLC to the game, actually 2 OF THEM! Its amazing the shit mod creators can do, theres one that adds weather, another that adds a BUNCH of more realistic things, and finally, one that changes the pip-boy to a hand held. Not only THAT but the interface actually is tolerable.

I'm getting it for PC because, honestly, every console game has a MAJOR issue, interface problems, loading and the GRAND DADDY OF THEM ALL!........ Bugs.

Well, as I don't have a gaming PC, I'll be playing it on Xbox. That doesn't mean you should, though. If you DO have a gaming PC, then by all means, get it for that. Mods sound pretty awesome to me.

PC, because you get those free mods and addons and if you need a controller most games let you just use the 360 controller easily, like they detect them and map the controls for you easy.

And any idiot that says user mods suck hasn't seen the vast fields of amazing mods that made Oblivion, Fallout 3 and New Vegas a billion times better. Are there a lot of shit ones? There's a lot of shitty things, hell most game librarys of the various consoles mostly sucked but it's the gems we cherish right?

Hey Fallout 3 and NV have no rain, wait there's a mod for that, and sand storms, and thunderstorms and even radioactive rain. Wow these menus are really constrictive, wait there's a mod for better windows!

Wow the gun sounds aren't to my liking, wait there's better ones? Wow! Hey I don't have a house..wait there's dozens to choose from in mods? Wow awesome!

/end rant :U
