Given we know what they'll look like, interesting to see what will be grabbed instead of the 90% bretons we probably had in Oblivion.

Nord - Chunky fighter-type, will likely - Boast resistance to cold and enhanced strength + large weapon skills
Breton - Standard white human guy, likely - increased resistance to magic spells, enhanced casting abilities
Imperial - Standard white human guy with an emphasis on diplomacy and non-magic fighting.
Redguard - Badass black guys. Fight like Nords but with faster attacks and more finesse
Altmer - Sallow-skinned elves who are really fuckin tall. Snooty attitudes to other races - Greatly increased casting abilities, decreased resistances to unfriendly spells and swords.
Dunmer - Dark elves, average height. Not the friendliest of races, quite racist in lore. Jack of all trades class.
Bosmer - Short wood elves, good with shortswords and really good with bows.
Khajit - Tiger guys, will be good at sneaking, archery and daggers.
Argonian - Lizard-dudes. Stats were shit in the last 2 games, boasting improvements in the worst and rarest weapon category and water-breathing as standard. Interesting to see if they've improved their racials a little.

I'll go for Khajit in the hopes that stealth in Skyrim is improved. The racial attributes are mostly educated guesses of mine from the previous games, but they are likely to be different. That said, that's the overall theme of the race so it shouldn't change too much. They won't be making Khajits into strong casters and altmer into head-on fighters.

You forgot the Imperials and I always go for Imperials when I make my first character.

Male Argonian. Loved them in Oblivion, love the screenshots of em from Skyrim.

Here's to hoping they can still breathe underwater. That actually came in handy on several occasions in Oblivion.

I can't wait to play as Argonian. It was a decision between them and Dunmer, but the latest screenshots have tipped me over to the Argonian side. They just look too good to pass up. They were pretty good in Oblivion, and I usually choose my character on looks not skills.

Argonian. I don't care how bad they are I just want to be an aquatic lizard dinosaur humanoid thing. Then Khajit because it's stats will probably line up with Stealth/Combat build I usually use.

I think I am going to play my first play through as a Bosmer female. I really like the way they look now. They looks serious business. She will most likely use a bow from stealth and have fall back daggers for close quarters. I really love the bottom left hand face on the new screenies I'll probably make mine from that preset.

I'm going to be a Khajiit thief with some archery and backstab-bery on the side. I like to play a sneaky bastard, and with the new assassination mechanic and increased damage dealt by bows, it's the perfect time to do so.

I will be an ork with my first heavily armoured character, then a dark or wood elf archer and then a breton, dark or high elf mage.

Most likely a male Dunmer and combining swordplay with offensive magic. If dual wielding magic/blades doesn't work out properly, I'll go for an Orc dual wielding axes.

I usually pick Dark Elves because I like a decent balance of magic and combat, but when I want to make an in-game version of me I pick a Breton.

But the thing is they all look awesome, especially the Argonians!
