So, Escapists, we've all heard the age old debate of Metallica vs Megadeth, watching fans beat each other to the death in order to defend their favourite bands supremacy. But what about the other half of The Big Four? Don't they get a say? I say they do get a say!

So, what do you say, Slayer, or Anthrax?

Does this count as a versus thread?

Oh well it doesn't seem too flammable so I'll bite. I prefer Slayer myself, can't pinpoint an exact reason why. Just personal preference.

Anthrax is easily the weakest of the thrash metal "Big Four" while Slayer is the only one that's never broken my heart, so this is easy. Slayer.

Slayer even though I only like a couple of songs (Disciple and Raining Blood obviously).

Anthrax is ok I guess, but I would only confess to liking Safe Home.

Most people will vote Slayer. Slayer have always been a lot more consistent than Anthrax, and consistency is key to longevity for any group. Anthrax lost their momentum drastically with lineup changes. I lost interest in Anthrax when John Bush started singing for them, not many bands survive a lead singer change well. Also, Slayer's sound hasn't dated as much, although that may start to work in Anthrax's favour as the 80's thrash revival gathers steam.

I don't listen to either, but as a big fan of deadly weaponized diseases I'll vote for Anthrax anyways.

SSLAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRR!!!!
Anyone who says it any differently isn't a Slayer fan.

I prefer Slayer because they're faster, heavier and consistently good.

SLAYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGHHHHHHHHHHH!

Hands down. I own only one Anthrax album "Among The Living" but I wasn't blown away by it, felt no need to buy any more. I own all the Slayer albums, they're fast, technical, heavy, just awesome.

You forgot option 3: I don't know/care. Sure there's also just the "avoid the thread" option but then you miss a pretty decent number of people.

As for Metallica and Megadeath I just can't imagine comparing them.

What big four are you talking about? The only Big Four I know is the British Invasion Big Four: The Beatles, The Moody Blues, The Rolling Stones, and Led Zepplin.
