Crash Bandicoot was a big deal back in the day. Anyone over the age of 16 should have heard of it.

Sly Cooper though, I've never heard of, and I play a lot of games. Was it from before the PS1/N64 era? As I was only just getting into gaming around the Super Nintendo time.

Quick question... I moved to Pc gaming after Sly Cooper 2... I remember the amazing ending that ended on a huge cliffhanger, that got me so intrigued that I started saving up money for Sly Cooper 3... After a year I started to lose interest... Did Sly Cooper 3 ever come out? Did it slip under my radar?

EDIT: Oh no wait I had Sly 3 XD It's been so long... No what I wanted to know about was Sly 4 =D

EDIT 2: Ahhhhhh it's been so long... I'm sure I played Sly 3, didn't it end where Bently had made a time machine?

Sly Cooper had great stealth indeed. IT was simple enough for the younger gamers, but still fitting for the adult ones.

Hmm..Wonder what Yahtzee would say about these two. :S
i always wanted yahtzee to review a sly game, it was possibly one of the best games i picked up for my PS2 (sly 3 that is). i wonder if they would ever make a fourth one?? probably not, but it would be cool if they did.
Weeeeell, According to wikipedia, the Brian Flemming said "I think it's extremely likely that you'll see us return to the 'Sly Cooper' franchise at some point in the future."
Hopefully, we'll be in luck!

It not only came out, it blew my mind away. Like, far, far, far....far, far away.

sly is on the ps2 i dont know if the 1st one was on ps1 ... but 2 and 3 are on the ps2..
and let me tell you cooper is probably the best stealth platformer game ever created.
it has everything you want in a good game killer gameplay , humor , ok story for its time , good controls and most of all great characters and level design. if you still have a ps2 i suggest picking it up somewhere.

I love the fact that it can be qualified as a pickpocket-sandbox game. Tee hee

You again, little girl in a box?!

I never played Sly. I don't know why, it just never really caught my attention the way Crash, Spyro, R&C and J&D did. I did hear that Infamous was born from Sucker Punch trying to make an advanced platforming engine for Sly. Though, I don't know if that's true or not.

Who knows, and what is wrong with a little girl in a box? Dont mock me home. :S

Hmmm, come to think of it, this is a nostalgia day for me.

I haven't played Crash, but I looooove the Sly series. The stealth is great, the story is above average, and I love the chapter buildups. I stated once that Assassin's Creed 2 would be near perfect if they had the same chapter buildups as the Sly series. That is:

1. You start off with a few espionage missions to find out how to reach your goal.
2. You make up a plan on what you need to eliminate in the enemy stronghold to make the big heist. This often includes eliminating enemies and stealing important equipment.
3. The big heist. This is the big dramatic ending where all your effort pays off to the complex and big plan that will go perfect.

This is what Sly 2 and 3 did perfectly, cause they made it very clear how important step 1 and 2 were, and they made great climaxes on step 3.

Sly Cooper is better than Crash Bandicoot. Let the hateration commence.
I'm sure it is and I've never even played Sly.

Crash was great for it's time, but I downloaded the first game from psn a while back for nostalgic reasons and the gameplay really hasn't aged well.

So, I mentioned my favourite game series, Sly Cooper.
So I mentioned another game series I used to love, Crash Bandicoot.
It is great games. Not counting the new games in Crash Bandicoot series.
.
*hugs*

I love them too. And I especially thank you for not liking the new ones.

Heard of both, never played Crash. LOVE the Sly series.

They need to get going on making 4 and they need to make it for the PS2. The Sly series has always relied on its art direction rather than raw graphical power to give you great visuals (in the way that Okami relies on art direction over raw graphics). As such, sly 4 would not need to tap into the processing power of the PS3, the PS2 would do fine.

Sucker Punch has added "Sly 4" easter eggs in Infamous game.
So, we can always hope. And pray...And if not, we can always grab out torches and pitchforks.

On a serious note, I once did send an email asking about exactly that, Sly 4.
The answerI got (I actually got an answer surpsisingly): "Maybe".

..never been so pissed. :p
Torches and pitchforks sounds rather serious to me.
Poor attempt to be funny aside, I've heard of both, but know next to nothing about the Sly series. It looked like a Jak and Dex or Ratchet and clank kind of game, R&C being the only series I've played.

I know what Sly Cooper is about but never really played any game. Crash Bandicoot on the other hand... I've played them all, and CTR particularly is burned into my brain.
