Smoking is cool for the movies. Makes some characters look badass and cool. Or makes them look suave. But in real life, I'm indifferent. Accept when it comes to teens. They shouldn't touch the stuff. It just looks wrong.

Its the only (legal)product in existence which when used correctly actively harms the user, I think its stupid and disgusting and I find it amazing that even today when we know exactly what it does to your body and how big the risks are associated with it that people still start smoking.
Fast food?
When used properly though, fast food is only harmful when its the only source of nutrition. It's not harmful if you only eat it on a semi regular basis. Whereas smoking is harmful from the very first drag.
Theres nothing at all harmful about a single drag, nor a single cigarette. The lungs are proficient at self cleaning. Smoking becomes harmful when it's over a long period of time consistently.

You know what else is harmful when consistently consumed over long periods of time?

Smoking: Biggest turn off ever. Of all time.

i think that about sums it up.

Really and honestly I hate it, and I don't think i could kiss a girl that I saw smoking. I just feel like it would make her taste like ash.

As a smoker myself I don't really mind it. Not turn on or a turn off, just there. None of the girls I've dated/fooled around with really minded either (at least I think)

Hate it. Won't date smokers and generally I avoid building friendships with them. There's something wrong in your head if you voluntarily continue an activity proven to give you cancer. Like riding a motorbike at 70 mph with no helmet except you're dragging those around you along on your death voyage as well.
That is honestly one of the most narrow minded things I've ever heard. How can you honestly say that you won't befriend people who smoke? It has nothing to do with personality. Not only that, but they don't "choose" to do it. Nicotine is INCREDIBLY addictive, and very easy to get hooked on. It's nothing like your description, as someone doesn't get addicted to things like that.

I don't think it's the cigarette that makes someone attractive..... I dunno I think it's more the person.....

I guess I'm neutral.

Well aren't you a narrow minded little thing.
What you spew is bigotry, to refuse to befriend or get involved with someone with the habit is nothing but hate, you refuse to acknowlage the person for who they are and what they are like, you condemn them immediatly for smoking.

You think all smokers automatically have to be harming those around us?
That is greatly incorrect.
There's the smoking ban which I, a smoker, agree with that makes it illegal to smoke in bars and restaurants and the like.
My mother smokes in the small room between the kitchen and the back-yard so no-one get's her 2nd hand smoke.
I smoke in my room away from everyone else.

Also no, smoking only INCREASES the chances of you getting cancer.
It reduces your health? Yeah well so does AL-CO-HOL and while smoking doesn't make you do stupud things, alcohol DOES.

Grow up.
lol... not all, but most don't give a flying fuck. Even so, to voluntarily do something which has been proven to do so much harm to you is just plain fucking stupid. It flies in the face of natural selection.

And yeah, alcohol makes people do fucking stupid things which is why I don't drink the stuff.

It's not even about hate, so thanks for jumping to completely the wrong conclusion. My argument is this: Why the fuck would I befriend somebody who has such a limited sense of self-preservation? If I'm friends with somebody, I care about them. If I care about them, I worry about their well-being. If they're a smoker, it would appear I worry about them more than they do. I don't have the fucking energy for that.

Fuck off with your condescending attitude. I have a close-knit circle of friends with whom I'm very happy. They don't smoke, they are smart enough not to do so.

I admit my original post was very generalised. I know some fairly thoughtful smokers, but that thoughtfulness only goes up to a point. After all, people will still worry for smokers. I hope?

It can be pretty hot. It draws attention to hands and mouth and if both are nice it can be attractive.

That being said the effects prolonged smoking has on your body aren't. So I thinking quitting before 25 is the right move.

On film and in games, I think it looks cool. It always helps in action movies and video games to have the badass, grizzled Sargent chomping on a cigar (Captain Price, Sargent Johnson, I'm looking at you guys). Also, one of those long cigarette holders can be a really nice touch to an old-timey hot chick in a movie. In real life, however, it's very gross. Mostly because it smells awful and the smoke gets in my eyes.
