Eh, I smoke cigars but won't touch cigarettes.

I like my tobacco free of chemicals and nicotine, thanks.
All tobacco has nicotine in it. Nicotine isn't put into tobacco, the tabacco plant in nature contains nicotine. At least, if Wikipedia is to be believed.
Cigars are the equivalent to smoking a pack of cigarettes but cigars dont even have the same amount of nicotine as cigarettes do hence why no one ever talks about addictions to cigars as much as cigarettes.

But all in all When Im at a classy party with whiskey in one hand I have to have a cubano in my other hand, It makes u look totally B.A.

I understand the social aspect of it but the problem is that it also causes cancer. Although people are a bit hypocrit on that (maybe the person who dies would have gotten lung cancer anyway, so it's bad to judge)

Im a social smoker. I only smoke in bars and such because the taste of a cigarette compliments that of my bourbon. And say what you want, having a drink in one hand and a cigarette in the other when your in a bar makes you feel better. Cause if you dont, where are you gonna put your other hand? Think about that next time your in a bar.

And even though this thread shows the mayority of posters think smoking is uncool. You wont believe how much compliments I got for my Jack Daniels metal cigarette box with built in lighter. Excellent conversation piece to impress the ladies.

The funny thing is, when I wake up on a sunday I often have some cigs left from the two nights before, yet no desire whatsoever to start smoking it.

Where? A girl (ass, cheek, hand, whatever).
Besides, why don't you just put another drink in your other hand, sure it's still bad but not as bad as the deathsticks ;-)

As an asthmatic, I find smoking to be terribly uncool, I mean, I realize that you have a right to smoke, but shouldn't the right to smoke end where it impedes my right to breathe?
THIS. Especially noting that I'm allergic to inhalers...

You don't hold hands in a bar. way to look like a possesive dork! And not all of us men have a steady suply of asses to hold.

You shouldnt underestimate binge drinking either. Alcohol addiction is far more destructive in short term (physically, mentally AND socially) not to mention long therm. I can assure you im addicted to neither. I enjoy both in moderation.

In a college of over 2000 people, I'd say about 1000 smoke, and all crowd round the fucking entrances to the 2 buildings I use everyday. I just hope I don't get lung cancer because that shit has such a low survival rate I don't want to consider it. Once I'm out of college maybe they'll be some relief, doubtful though. Fucking government economic crutch. What does it say about an economy when it couldn't survive without drugs? ¬_¬

it's uncool if you smoke to try to be cool. Otherwise it's a choice someone makes whether to smoke or not, as long as they are smoking outside I couldn't care less. Besides I smoke cigarettes sometimes but I think you can guess what I smoke more of ;).

Yes, but the nicotine sweats out as the cigar ages. After two years, a negligible amount remains.

Honestly? Uncool. There isn't anything great about it.

Actually, I find it disgusting. The mere smell of smoke makes me want to vomit. And if the person who I see smoking is a REALLY hard smoker, most likely he will be coughing his fucking organs out to draw some breath every time he blows. That also disgusts me. And the bloody smell that sticks to the smokers clothes if they smoke a lot or really strong smokes. GOD.

But if someone wants to smoke? Fine. Just don't do it while Im near you. Outside is fine, but let me stand on the side where the wind blows from.

Smoking looks cool - fire hanging out of face and blowing smoke is cool.
The effects of smoking, however, negate any kind of coolness.
Hacking cough,Gravel laugh, Cancer, Tracheotomy, not cool.

If people like it though. I can't judge. Taxes from cigarettes pay for the health service.

I absolutely hate people that smoke, when I see people walking down the street, especially my age (I'm 15) I just think their so discusting. I think however, that most sensible people who smoke probably don't think it makes them "cooler"

I can't see how it makes somebody "cool". Personally I just laugh deep inside about their future suffering, then I remember, "Oh shit, my money is being given to the NHS to relieve their suffering" and get angry.

No way. The bassist and singer in my band smoke, and they think they're awesome because of it. I haven't the heart to tell her (our singer) that her voice is already going husky.
