Used to smoke quite heavily for maybe 6-8 years. Quit about 9 months ago, havent regretted it since.

Do you smoke?InfiniteSingularity said:So I have some opinion/discussion questions on smoking, your experiences with smoking, and your opinions:
P.S.InfiniteSingularity said:If you don't smoke, do you mind others smoking, or do you hate cigarette smoke?
If I see random people smoke, I usually don't mind as long as I don't get the smoke in my face, tho I have a certain tolerance for that in some situations because smokers can't control the wind, right? I usually just shrug on the inside then. But if I take note of a friend or family member smoking, I can get really angry (on the inside, anyway, how I convey that anger is a different topic) since I care about these people, their health and their long-term happiness as opposed to the short-term happiness a quick smoke offers them.
What is you opinion on other people smoking? Is it their right to choose?
As much as I'm against using drugs such as alcohol and cigarettes, it's everybody's right to choose, but it's also my right to protest against it, just as other people are allowed to convince people to start smoking (even if I dislike it). So yeah, pretty much the same as with any other decision you make on earth.
Personally I'd prefer a world without "fun drugs"[footnote]If I'd say "drugs in general" I think medicine would have to look for an entirely different kind of painkiller.[/footnote], but alas, taking drugs has become part of the average teenagerhood in many countries and multiple examples in the past have shown you can't just force people to stop by law. So yeah, guess I'll have to deal with Soma eventually.
What do you think of smokers?
In general I think they're stupid for doing it since I don't see any kind of appeal in smoking and can't think of a reason good enough to start smoking, but of course people aren't perfect and make mistakes and some people really want to quit and regret it and then I can't really hold a grudge against them anymore.
Do you think smoking should be banned, or sales of tobacco banned, or some sort of legal enforcement to halt smoking?
I don't think it would work seeing how already illegal drugs are widely consumed anyway and remembering the alcohol prohibition. If I were to be selfish and omnipotent, I'd rid the world of all those "fun drugs", but I have to respect those around me, even if I strongly dislike it. I simply have no right to force someone's lifestyle around like that (unless they desired it).
If people ban tobacco tho, they should also ban alcohol in my opinion (tho, like I said, it would probably be useless), but they probably wouldn't because they enjoy a few regular glasses themselves. Tells you something 'bout society.
