Why do you smoke/why did you start?
How much do you smoke? Cigarettes per day (packs per day if relevant)
Have you ever tried, or are you considering trying at some point?
If you do smoke, do you enjoy it?
Do you smoke regularly? Or just occasionally?
Do you regret smoking?
Do you think you are addicted to smoking?
Was your school education on smoking accurate to the real thing, in your opinion?
If you don't smoke, do you mind others smoking, or do you hate cigarette smoke?
What is you opinion on other people smoking? Is it their right to choose?
What do you think of smokers?
Do you think smoking should be banned, or sales of tobacco banned, or some sort of legal enforcement to halt smoking?
Have you previously been a smoker, and quit? How was quitting?
What's some advice you would give to a smoker for quitting?
I smoke cigs and marijuana in a pipe or bong, though nargilla/shisha is fun.
I started in first year of university because I've always wanted to, I come from a place where smoking is not that big of a deal. I used to smoke a single cig on Fridays because I had a long 40 minutes walk to my class back then.
I regularly smoke half a pack to a pack a day of 25s, but have cut back to 5-6 a day.
I love it, I truly enjoy cigs and because of my general oral fixation its a great help in getting my mind off things.
I do not regret smoking, but that's because I'm still in my early 20s. That may change.
If you smoke daily, you are addicted. Even if its only 1 a day.
Education will never explain how smoking feels, only the objective health facts. As such, it can't be accurate. Consider that they will never really try to tell you how awesome coccaine feels because that is really not the purpose of health education. They don't want you doing a risk-benefit calculation, because that would mean that Marijuana, LSD, and shrooms would show to be worth the risk (and that undermines the education). Though cigs are far worse than those 3 in terms of health.
What I hate worst is judgmental people. I will never tell someone they are horrible people because they do ecstasy or coke or shrooms or McDonald's, and I expect the same in return from others. The Golden Rule will show that acting like an a$$ at someone else's vice is hypocritical and stupid. I knew a kid that was constantly awful to me about it, turns out he had a gambling addiction and stole $300 from his roommate. I have never stolen money for cigs, and he thought he had the moral authority to be a di$$ because cigs are considered the worst evil in society (which they are clearly not).
Me and my friends sit in the middle of a field with no one else around to smoke. That doesn't hurt anyone. On the other hand, alcohol causes more harm and risk to the non user than smoking, due to drinking-related violence etc. I understand completely what you're saying, but there's a lot of grey areas you seem to missfrankskye said:Do you think smoking should be banned, or sales of tobacco banned, or some sort of legal enforcement to halt smoking?
Yes because it harms other people. I don't oppose banning alcohol (even though I don't drink) because you can drink alcohol without causing other people to suffer. However, you can't smoke without causing harm to other people.
Personally i like the feeling of inhaling the smoke. I haven't had enough for long enough to get properly addicted - i haven't even had a whole cigarette yet, i usually pass the rest to my friends when I don't feel like it anymore.Nihilism_Is_Bliss said:I think it is disgusting and stupid.
Isn't even pleasant...just addictive. People only THINK it's pleasant because they're satisfying an addiction/habit.
He's right, there is an enjoyable feeling for some people. People react differently to different things. And if you "THINK" it's pleasant because you're satisfying an addiction then does that change the fact that it still feels pleasant?InfiniteSingularity said:Me and my friends sit in the middle of a field with no one else around to smoke. More grey areas people are missing.
