I felt everything went spiraling out of control. Just before the end arc, I had to rid the world of a certain group I didn't want to.

Anders did his thing. The noble archer guy went to get an army.

Neither side acted appropriately. I guess the ending would have been boring if everyone just got along, but I felt invested in some characters, and it all came to a crashing blood pool of a halt.

I liked the ending as far as a game goes, just not as a fan of the characters. It was good, but I was sad. Again tho, maybe I will make better choices on my other playthroughs, and it will better. Now that I hate Anders..... yeah, it should be better : )
Fair enough, a diplomatic resolution would probably have been a little more positive.

I have to admit I hated Anders long before 'that' happened, if only because he was such a dick to Merill all the time. The fact that he had useful healing spells just annoyed me even more, because it made things harder if I left him in Darktown for most of the game.

By comparison, Sebastian may or may not have been a boring, whiny person, but I never needed another archer so I honestly don't know.

I loved it.
Though part of that may be due to my being a devout Bioware fanboy poking my insides with sharp pointy sticks of love.

But I did have a ton of fun playing it

I loved everything except the recycled dungeons, the bugs and the lack of imagination in the endless 'go here kill this' fetch quests.

Plus the last hour was boring as shit, just endless waves of enemies.

It's okay, I liked it more than the original. Some of the text, like the loading screen tips, is really fucking small though.

I'm likin' it pretty well. The setting is interesting and the NPCs are fun. It is innovative and the limited character choice works with the story.

I have to say the crafting is much improved. I don't think anyone mentioned that, but I was tired of hauling around all the ingredients and running out of empty flasks.

Not being able to equip a bow for warriors is lame. Generally the best tactic is to hold formation and let the mobs charge, but without bows the warriors stand around doing zilch. But it is much easier so I guess it's a wash.

All in all, it's pretty polished, and I think it's easily as good as DA:O so yes I like it.

So I just beat Dragon Age 2...and I liked it. I wouldn't say it was amazing or game of the year material, but it wasn't bad either. The story was actually pretty good (even if Act I took forever) and I didn't mind the new fast paced battle system. I'll admit it would have been nice if the Quarni hadn't changed so much visually or if the game had more then two repeating dungeons though...

I was just curious if anyone else out there actually liked Dragon Age 2 given the extreme hatred this game seems to have arisen among the denizens of the Internet.

EDIT: Sorry, I didn't realize this was the second thread of its type. Please feel free to rage at me and call me names for making a simple mistake. I shall not forsake you again Oh Search Bar God!
Hooooraaaay, someone else who liked it! I don't feel so alone anymore.

And here's the kicker
[HEADING=1]You can't read the on screen text on an SDTV[/HEADING]
Better graphics is not an excuse to make the text microscopic, especially in a game that's 50% reading text
I thought my TV was just a piece of shit or that my eyesight was finally dying.

Didn't know this was a legit complaint.
yup, the same thing happened with Mass Effect 2.
This is Bioware telling us cheep/broke bastards to buy a new tv

I loved it. Wasn't crazy about the ending (It's story. The fighting was excellent). Freaking Orsino...

I love the new ability trees. They allow for more variability across different playthroughs than Origins, except for mages.

The handling of companion armor was a bummer, but I liked that I had to constantly keep upgrading my equipment (though, ironnically, I did stick with a rogue outfit called Vain for a while because it looked so damn snazzy).

I have an HDTV, but still say it's ridiculous to make text hard to read on an SDTV. It's text, it shouldn't be hard to get right. They can make an option to toggle SD text on and off like how Vanquish did. Yeah, gamers should really have upgraded by now. But text shouldn't be the reason why.

I still say every game should have this:

Eh I thought it was alright. I however hated the first one. Not because it was a bad game, just too generic for me. Open minded to the second one though and found it to be enjoyable as I played. Re-play value low however.

Na, the game was pretty good. There are legitimate criticisms, of course, but this game is getting a great deal of bile spewn its way. It seems to be divided into two camps - RPG purists upset that Bioware 'dumbed down'(read - made enjoyable to play) the RPG mechanics, and people who still think that RPGs are stupid, no matter how accessible.

I enjoyed it, even though it had its flaws. For a game created in a little over a year, it's surprisingly solid.
