Yes but not the special edition, I do not have the money for it. I'm also not going to the midnight release as I have school the following day, but I am going to get it the second I get out of school and I will play the crap out of that thing!

The singleplayer is the most important aspect, but I am also excited for the multiplayer (The only online multiplayer I've ever even remotely cared about) that is if I can get my PSN connection working. >:0

It seems that the generally accepted complaint among the naysayers is akward controls, I've never experienced this. In fact, I liked BioShock's controls because they weren't as twitchy as most FPSs, they were more stable and balanced in my opnion.

I am a huge BioShock Fanboy, I had BioShock 2 pre-ordered from Steam but over the past 2 weeks 2K has done everything in their power to convince me to cancel that pre-order, and it has succeeded.

Strike 1: SecuRom still present on Digital Distribution Copies.
Strike 2: SecuRom Machine Limits Switched for GFWL Activation Limits. Its still a limit.
Strike 3: 2K Elizabeth has been unable to answer if SecuRom Machine Activation Limits will be added into BioShock 2's DLC, just like 2K did for Borderlands.

Strike 4: Less worried about, but no dedicated server for Multiplayer.

I plan on picking up BioShock 2 when its on sale for $20. Until then, I may rent it and a 360 from our local video store or something.
Same here.

I had money set aside for the game well in advance.
I'll put up with a lot of DRM for good games, but activation limits are a total dealbreaker.
I've been burned by it too many times already (IE my deluxe copy of spore being effectively coastered by activation limits running out with a few days of release due to tech problems)

DRM has prevented a sale for me here. Incidentally, both the 360 and PC versions of the game are on torrent sites already making the DRM pointless (again!)

*sigh* i'll probably pick it up when it's really cheap on steam, but activation limits means it's a rental not a purchase essentially...

Got it preordered... couldn't say no to all the extras in the special edition. Damn these developers with their wily ways!

At first I was confused and sort of put off because the original didn't really warrant a sequel. Then I started reading interviews with the developers and reading Ken Levine's reactions to the game and it started sounding better and not so much like a sequel but more of a different story set within Rapture. I really only brought myself to pre-order it yesterday, because I did absolutely love the first game and I didn't really want to miss out on any interesting pre-order bonuses [sub]*goddamn sons of bitches, I feel like a tool*[/sub] in the multiplayer, which is apparently going to be story driven as well.

I hate pre-order bonuses.

I really liked bioshock so much i played it to the point where now I cant stand it.. so im torn on the issue of getting the second one. Honestly, I just want to know how they continued a game with 2 endings.. lol
Simple. They assume you went with the good ending.

Its not like Mass Effect 2 where all your decisions carry over, but rather a cheap and dirty and easy way to start the next game in the franchise.
That makes since I guess.

Don't like first person perspective and the first game was way to creepy for me. I had to quit it, it made my heart hurt (with the lights on and happy music playing). So no, not getting it.

I'll be getting it. Probably not during the first couple days after release though. The first Bioshock was a rare example of an FPS not created by Valve that managed to captivate me and left a lasting impression on me as being a truly good game, so I hold its sequel to quite high standards. At first I thought it was going to be terrible, when all we knew was that you played as a Big Daddy and that it had multiplayer, but learning that there are more than two guns and that there's a new Ryan-like figure gave me some hope for this title.

I'm only going to play single player though. I don't give a flying shit about multiplayer in Bioshock, a game that is meant to be single player. That was a really cheap sellout on their part.

Wow the poll is really close. I am not at all bothered about playing Bioshock 2, it is supposedly not as good as the first and the first still disappointed me. It took me until it eventually came out on PS3 to play it.
