At least Diablo has a soul, unlike Torchlight, which is some sort of hollowman-esque shadow of a dungeon crawler.
At least X has a *vague quality designed to invoke meaningless positive connotation*, unlike Y, which is some sort of *equally vague and tangentially correlatory negative term* of Z genre.
That's some sort of argument you have there (I apologise for getting caught up in my own use of language, but this post annoyed me for having zero actual discussion value, so therefore I'm allowed to be a smartarse)
On topic:
I pre-ordered torchlight 2 for a few reasons (I think I may have responded already but in case I haven't i'l try to add some repeated boring discussion):
1. The real money auction house is going to devalue virtual gold and items, it always does. People will still sell gold illegally, because they will still be able to make a profit and undercut auction house fees, and all people will get from it is no mod support and always on DRM (and the choice of paying inflated virtual money values or real money, considering that it's more than a full priced PC game this is just money grubbing on a game that was ALWAYS going to sell very well).
Even if I am not going to use the auction house, for either in game or real money transactions this 'is' going to affect me.
2. Battle net is terrible, in my opinion, and I hate using it.
3. I bought a 4 pack of torchlight 2 for roughly the same cost as diablo 3 would have been at release now, so I can guarantee people interested and able to play it.
4. I don't like how forced the skill choices are, I like the rune system but I dislike how rigid they've made your choice of what you can use at any one time.
5. I dislike some of the things they've taken out for no reason, mana potions, scrolls, etc.
I will probably pick it up when I have nothing else to play and it's down to the £10-15 range or has an expansion out that people who know my tastes tell me is THE BEST THING EVER.
