Here's my pipeline dream that's barely related to this. Bioware should combine DA and ME. Give us all of the standard fantasy elements of dwarves, elves, dragons, and magic. Then set that shit in the future. IN SPACE. Suddenly you have dragon-slaying snipers and wizards shooting down spaceships. Fuck yeah.
... like Star Wars?

OT: Yeah, I care. I really enjoyed DA2 despite it's flaws, and will likely pre-order the limited super-duper edition of DA3 almost as soon as it's announced. I'm a fan, I enjoyed the story, and didn't mind the voice acting.

I don't see any elves or dragons in Star Wars. And The Force barely qualifies as magic now that we know it's caused by aliens.

Not really.
While I want to like the series(love medieval settings and RPGs) I just don't. I'm not sure why people praise the first game so much and of the two I prefer the second due to the improved combat. Overall I just find the games repetative, dull and I guess unpolished.

That said, I'll probably still pick up DA3 once the price drops by a lot.

No, but there are plenty of aliens and wildlife that could arguably fill the role nicely. And let's be honest (while I still call bullshit on the whole midiclorian thing), is a mystic force caused by bacteria really so much of a leap from mystic forces caused by dead gods, or spirits, or powered by one's own life force or whatever the hell else is used to explain magic in traditional fantasy settings? Besides, I know I'm grasping at straws here but indulge me, Joseph Campbell of "Hero with a thousand faces" fame called Obi Wan a wizard character, not least because George Lucas wrote him as one. So yeah. Star Wars.

I'm actually kind of hoping Dragon Age III goes the way of Mass Effect III, only even more dumbed down and insulting, just to taste the sweet Berserker Tears of all the fans.
Bite your tongue, evil one! The last thing we need is that whole "artistic integrity" vs. "product" debate again. While I was upset about ME3's ending most of the time I was just "shut the hell up!" to both sides. -_-

We do not need to start World War 3 over Bioware games.

George Lucas can call anyone he wants a space wizard. I'm not sold until someone starts throwing fireballs. No the lightning thing the Emperor did does not count. This is my "I Have A Game" idea and I'm going to keep wanking off to it.

Yes, I do. I still liked the second one for all its faults, and I absolutely loved DA:Origins.

I care about the series enough to be worried that Bioware will screw up yet another one of their promising trilogies with the third installment. We can't really get a good judge on that though until we see the game in action.

That is, quite possibly, the best idea I have ever heard. On topic, I do still care. But I'll wait to see more about DA3 before I make nay actual judgments.

I don't really care about multimillion dollar franchises... but i'm hoping for a sequel that plays more like the original.

Let's say you're asking, "Are you still hoping DA3 will be good?". Yeah, I'm hoping that they bring back the Morgan is pregnant story, and incorporate the grown child leading a faction that acts as a neutral party between the unabashedly evil faction and the faction that opposes both the Avatar-Child of Morgan, and whatever evil plagues Ferelden, or if they take us somewhere else.

I had better formulated thoughts about this shortly after finishing DA:O but this is the first time I've thought about it again. I think it'd be interesting. Maybe the reincarnation of the Old God (was it an Old God, I can't remember exactly what they called it) wants to bring salvation to more of her/his sisters/brothers, like he/she was cleansed. Maybe the evil is another Archdemon, it'd be the easiest choice, but a some storyboarding could make it more interesting. The obvious third faction would be the province or the continent's rulers, in opposition of the evil, and political conflict over how to deal with the reborn Old God, that you can sway, or mostly ignore and allow to unravel, while helping either of the other factions.

So yeah, I'm still into hoping Dragon Age gets a good third act.

I care about the next DA being better than the last two. Actually, the next DA needs to be the best damn one in the series to make up for how disappointed I was with DA2. But yes, I still care about the franchise as a whole.

I've kind of stopped caring about Dragon Age. Don't get me wrong DA:O was great, I still love playing it to this day, and I'm part of the minority that enjoyed playing DA2. I do admit that the second was NO where near as good as the first. The reason I've started to stop caring is because Bioware seems to be headed down hill. ME3 was... well lets not get into that, and SWTOR is a bit of a flop and by flop I mean utterly awful.

Dragon Age 3 could "redeem" Bioware, in a manner of speaking (imo). I'm just not getting my hopes up. Hope for the best, plan for the worst!

I cared about the first one, but after Hawke and all of the bologna with 2...I kind of hope the series dies just so Bioware can see what they did wrong. I was absolutely pissed about not being able to carry over next to anything important from Origins. I understand they wanted to make the Mass Effect lightning strike again in a different setting, but the effect failed spectacularly.

OT: I loved DA:O but I never played DA2...I heard you could not be a dwarf, no use in buying it for that reason alone

Alright, you've got me there. There are no fireballs in Star Wars... yet.

Of course. Origins was great. Dragon Age 2 was decent. I just wish they would stop focusing on magic so much.

I care about the franchise in the sense that I was invested in the setting at some point. Some remnants of that past affection managed to survive Dragon Age 2, tucked away in the deepest recesses of my spleen. If ever a Dragon Age 3 comes out, I may purchase it once the price has gone down. Assuming it doesn't require Origin.

screw dragon age. They monstrously screwed up dragon age 2 with homogenized replay dungeons and Final fantasy over the top fighting instead of sticking with the great game-play mechanics from DA1...
Dude, the fighting in DAII was at least exciting. In DA:O it looked like the characters were LARP fighting, and if I wanted to witness a damn LARP fight, I would've just gone somewhere where a LARP was taking place.
Yeah because real fighting always looks like choreographed ballet dancing and has blood pissing out of your enemies like a fireman's hose.

The dwarves have always been the best part of Dragon Age.

I'm never buying or playing another Dragon Age game, I'll just keep replaying Origins.
