I typically work on a system the more something is advertised the worse it is as they want more publicity so more people will buy it.

I've got a couple like Ford's "You cheated off our engineers in math class." commercial, those ones where the little kid talks about how his parents were lame before they bought an SUV, or really any commercial specifically targeted at men, because they all assume you're stupid.

its so bad it requires a spoiler... (which i can't for the love of me, remember how to name)
you have been warned.

this ad makes me ashamed to say i work there.......

DON'T LOOK AT ME!!!!!
Well I think you win worst ad award. That was by far the most painfully awkward advert I have ever seen. Do those memory wipe thing's they have in Men in Black exist or am I going to have to used the old fashioned remedy. I find most ad's Nintendo do for Mario games to be painful to watch

Do you mean the "It will make your mum cry." ad? Because I still think that was pretty funny and everyone forgot about it like 2 days after it first aired.
If you want to see an ad that is truly insulting to gamers as a whole, go take a look at that 5 minute WiiU ad that was released a while ago.

Fucking patronising and insulting on every level I can think of.
How is that remotely insulting? Kill the bad jokes, throw in some profanity, and replace video calls/wii message board with Google and I doubt there's a single person on the site that hasn't done exactly that.
Because it looks like a bunch of people at a board meeting sat down and watched an episode of Big Bang Theory, saw Sheldon acting like a fuckwit and assumed all gamers love that kind of shit because it's "lol so randumb and nerdy" then paid someone to make an advertisement off such an assumption.
You might act like an assclown like this guy does, but I sure as hell do not. I also can't fucking stand the coke-bottle "Look at me I'm so fucking nerdy" glasses he's wearing. There are much less obnoxious eyewear options in this day and age.

So basically if it was 5 minutes of someone gritting they're teeth with a bit of grimacing in silence it would be fine and the problem is that they they had the actor describe what was going on?

If so please delete any tv shows and movies you have on your computer, throw away any phtiscal copies of the same, cancel any subscription to netflix, etc and block hulu, etc. Pretty much every TV/Movie in existence does that.

I'm going to challenge myself and the board and say "John Romero is about to make you his *****." I apologize if it has been said, but that is the most obvious example I could think of and I was definitely NOT buying Daikatana after that. I don't even know why they released a demo for that textured and programmed vomit bag.
At least the final game wasn't a broken, buggy mess with terrible forced escort missions with even more terrible AI that had no survival instincts! :D

Honestly, for myself I think a better question would be "Has an advert ever actually made you want to buy something?" because I can't really think of any that I've seen in the last... seven years that made me go "Oh, oh, I just gotta have that!"

As for the actual topic at hand, what EA did with Dante's Inferno and Yahtzee was pretty cool. What EA did to advertise it to the rest of the world... not so much. The aforementioned 'Your mom will hate it!' commercials as well (though I had little interest in Dead Space at the time anyway). And all of those Snuggie, Shamwow, Oxiclean, and whatever else commercials that infest television. At least back when they had Billy Mays, Oxiclean was amusing to watch.

as a few people have said go compare it annoyed me to such a degree that i vowed to never use their service even thought i still dont know exactly what they are selling.

i took to turning off the tv when it came on and sometimes forgetting to turn it back on again that just made me more annoyed with it

I don't watch TV anymore with the exception of docos because TV has hit the very depths of the sewerage system.

throw away any phtiscal copies of the same,
Why would I buy physical copies of shit?

cancel any subscription to netflix, etc
You seriously think I pay to stream shitty quality television that I could see for free?

and block hulu,
Hulu was kind enough to block my entire country.

Lets forget about all this, shall we? I just would like to see an ad about gamers that aren't hyperactive, overgrown idiots. This ad fuels to a stereotype that I wish would go away. No, I do not think games are art and should be revered and accepted by all but I damn well don't want to be thought of as a child because I like me a bit of Skyrim or Persona on my weekend.

one simple phrase will say it all, and remind anyone who saw it.

"They're going to taste great!"

Fuck that frosties advert, it was so hated that the kid who starred in it got stabbed. Completely wrong, that, but it shows just how hated that advert was.

Don't know if Halebop exists in other countries than Sweden, but the commercials we get here are so utterly crappy and annoying, I just loathe that company.
