I'm not buying it on launch, I'm going to wait for it to get some decent games behind it and get a bit cheaper.

I'm in no rush at all to buy one, I will probaby wait until the next zelda is out, so that gives me a year at least, but I will probably end up buying one even if its mainly to play Bayonetta 2.

meh, the announced release titles are pretty much all the decent titles from the current generation, the wiiu will have slightly more power than the ps3 so in the way of graphics it's still pretty meh, and will probably fall behind again pretty badly as soon as sony and microsoft releases their machines, might even get surpassed by the ouya machine.

the only thing is the touch-screen controller which I personally am very skeptic towards of how well it will actually work.

Families with kids will still probably get it almost exclusively for the Mario titles, but that is about it...

I really can't get excited about this machine and my job actually depends on it, but I know most of my co-workers feel the same =/

If down the road after the release they have some really good games that can use the xbox shaped controller, then possibly.

Wow. Just wow. Either that is some triple-A sarcasm or you seriously think that the enormous square controller with a touchscreen is a "proper" controller for "traditional" games.

And we're going to let the folks at home decide which it is. Call in your votes now. Standard call and text rates apply.

I'm not convinced that the PS4 and 720 aren't going to come out and make it another WiiU. We've got lots of the developers now asking for more processing power, wanting to do bigger things, and the WiiU is barely exceeding standards today. On the other hand, if the other two consoles are too late, then the WiiU might have already built up enough market share to invalidate them.

Also I want to see if you can play a decent hack 'n slash or a decent fight/shooter on it first. The gimmick is interesting and could be very good, but I want to know if it can actually do the core stuff first.

I tend to be delayed anyway, I'm very reluctant to spend big money and have also got some playstation brand loyalty.

It pretty much depends on the games coming out, looking forward to seeing if Nintendo actually lives up to their claim of "bringing their core audience back".

I'm probably never going to get one until the Wii I use for virtual console breaks. Considering the quality of endurane that Nintendo prides itself on, probably around twenty years from now.

I'm not touching it until games come out on it that actively utilize the touchscreen in an impressive manner that cannot be duplicated on my PC.

For example, I saw someone suggest that maybe for their FPS titles they could have the score on the touchscreen, and the game on the main screen. That would not interest me as, sure, I don't have to take up part of my screen to view my score, but its a 0.5 second thing that really doesn't bother me, and that I'll usually only check when I die anyway.
The ZombiU real time management of inventory on the touchscreen is somewhat interesting, as it is something that, whilst I could do it on my PC, it wouldn't be as effective, and it looks like it could improve the experience somewhat. That on its own, however, is not enough to make me get it.

Actually, that just gave me a thought. I want someone to take advantage of dual monitor systems in games, and allow me to do that sort of thing because I have two screens if I so choose. One for the game, one for the little perks like that. That would be cool.

Eh, its got two sticks and all the buttons, so functionally it is capable of 'traditional' gameplay.
The Squarish shape is also nothing new. Looking to real traditional consoles, square, or close to square wasn't unheard of. The size of the controller is large for its shape however.
The fact that it has a touchscreen in no way invalidates its ability to play traditional games, it just means it can do more than that.

Overall it is a non-traditional controller that has traditional controller capabilities + more.

Big negative on that one. At this point I have next to no faith in nintendo. They'd have to pull amazing stacks of gold nuggets out of their ass before I'll be changing my mind...time will tell.

Honestly, I don't know that I can say I have zero interest in the console what so ever.. but the interest I do have is barely measurable. I can see myself maybe buying the console at some point but it's going to be a long way out and when it's dirt cheap.

first i must be able to test out if the new controller is confortable to use. if it passes that then
it must have a good library of games for it and it keeps it't 3rd party developer support over 2-3 year before i even began consider it worth spending one penny on it

sure it has 3rd party developers making game for it now but whats stopping them from abandoning the wiiu shortly after they release or a year down the line. but then again i do like zelda games. but i am not stupid enough to buy a consoles over one franchise if the fails to hold 3rd party support (but fanboys are and they are fools).

then again if i get the money to afford it. maybe i would save it to get a powerful pc instead.
so who know i may abandon consoles all together in the future.

I don't even have a 3DS and the one game I want for it i don't think is justification for a whole new console, same applies to the WiiU, they have only shown one game that i'm even slightly interested in. I think i'll wait for the PS4.

Not going to buy it on launch. Definitely do plan on buying it a year or two after that, when the console is a bit more... refined, though. :p No way in hell am I going to miss out on the option to play new ninty games, no matter how weird the console sounds.

I'm sitting on the fence over pre-ordering the bastard. Having a great time with the Wii already; I haven't even played Last Story yet and it's sitting on my pile staring at me like the awesome game that it is.

The only reason I'd have to buy a WiiU straight up is that my current first-gen Wii is a loud little vacuum cleaner when I try to run games like Xenoblade, Zelda: Skyward Sword, and Metroid Prime 3. It's ship out the Wii and my chips to get it fixed, or buy a brand new one. And it's not like I have any issues playing my gamecube games on the Wii, so it can have a good life on another part of my house while I switch to playing my Wii games on the WiiU.

Even then, it's a lot of money. And times are tough.

The controller and now the fact that it's made by nintendo who made the Wii should give some people cause for pause. But honestly, I don't see how the ridiculous tablet control is going to help game development any more than the tiresome motion control nunchucks of the wii. You could argue it has very valid and fun uses for around 3 specific games, but are 3 games really enough to justify buying some new expensive system?

If you find you have too much money, want new games, and don't want to risk making a dumb decision, just buy some steam games for your PC. I'm not getting any of those consoles.
