I'd like to think that if either exists that there are levels. I'd probably make it into the middle rung of heaven, if only because I'm hardly a saint but I don't go out of my way to be an asshole either. I'm a decent person.

Man there sure are a LOT of optimistic people who think they'd go to heaven.
I'd be going straight to hell as I'm pretty sure i've committed every deadly sin at least once, i'm an atheist, i'm an anti-theist and can't recall ever meeting any of the "Big" requirements.
Hell's where it's at anyway - All the coolest people are there and never ending physical torture would be SIGNIFICANTLY more palatable than being a mindless drone in heaven, the most tedious place in the universe, forced to worship God for all eternity.

But thats mainly cause i apply Logic and God, if he exists, wouldnt be as stupid to give us Free Will to decide what we do and then punish or reward us on a Scale that we dont know anything about or how it influences it.

That being said, i believe that when we die, we simply cease to need our physical Bodies and Death is merely another Step in what Life is. Basicly another state of life itself where we exist basicly as the Soul or something of the sort. Its as likely to be true as the believe in Heaven or Hell anyhow.

I'm an atheist so if the religions of the world are right, then I'm going to hell for not accepting any of their Wild Mass Guessing generated ideas.
Though according to Dante Aligari, I'll only end up in the least circle of hell reserved for unbaptized infants, atheists, and those who had the bad luck to be born before Christianity and Judaism even existed.

If the bible is true, then we're pretty much all going to hell, because practically no-one follows all the instructions in that book.
If just the words attributed to Jesus in the bible are true then again, we're pretty much all going to hell, because no-one even does just the things that he says (specifically the part about giving away all worldly possessions)
If it's Islamic heaven and hell then I'm fucked, I'm not even sure what all their rules even are, or even how similar heaven and hell are in their mythology.

Hell, because it really doesn't matter how good of a person I am, just the fact that I'm an atheist would get me sent to hell.
That is, if we go by standard rules. If it's about whether you're a good person or not, I'd say heaven. Although it's doubtful if I'd even want to go there to spend eternity revering God. I'd probably rather just not have an after-life...

Maybe you don't care what religion someone is, but in determining Heaven and Hell and where we'll end up, doesn't it follow we have to have a common definition of Heaven and Hell?
If we're going by the stupid rules of christian Heaven/Hell then i'm hellbound and proud. If we're going by rules that actually make sense, then i think it's very open to debate.

For one, it'll turn this into another religious argument, and two, you have no way of knowing if there is a God or not, so don't go and claim that "this isn't a hypothetical question", because for all we know, it could be.
Don't get me wrong, I believe in God too, but... c'mon, you have to have some grasp of logic to see that there is a possibility that you might be wrong, just like that possibility exists for everyone of any belief or lack of it.

Well... this is a hard question, who'd really get to decide? I mean, personally I don't think very highly of myself and neither do most of the people I encounter but there are several others who think very highly of me so yeh, i' not really sure...

Hell, definitely. If heaven is ANYTHING like what major religions make it out to be, it sounds fucking shit. Christianity: Like no fun shit at all. No sex. No drink. No general shenanigans. Pure Baws. Islamic: I can?t remember how many virgins you?re meant to get but even more than 1, that?s a fucking curse not a blessing. The list goes on.
