First of all , this ISN'T a religious debate, I don't care if your atheist or buddist or catholic. This is a Hypothetical question . So we are going to assume that Heaven and Hell exists for the sake of the thread. Also purgatory doesn'T count , it's one or the other.

Now if heaven and hell exists , and you were to suddenly die right now , where do you think you'll be sent and why ?

Personally i would be sent to hell, i have done ( and argubly still doing ) some terrible things in the past. Sure i'm not a murderer or a rapist nor am i a pedophile, but i have done quite a few repulsive things in my lifetime .

Heaven. I'm not a saint but I see myself as a usually nice guy.

I would be sent to Heaven as punishment, and I would be bored to death (and ressurrected - then bored to death again rinse and repeat)
But I would sent Mr. Satan an application every day. I would apply as some sort of painbringing punisher in his infinite realm. I have some boygroups, forum users and other a**holes I like to torture for all eternity...

Due to my hatred of boredom to the point of insanity and the fact that heaven will be absolutely boring in every aspect as fun dos not exist there, and the fact that i'm a sociopath who has and will continue to kill and eat random things, I would probably be go to hell and be stuck in heaven, my personal hell, everything fun does not exist, a infinite sentence of boredom and bright white things that burn my eyes.

Maybe I'd be sent to purgatory, though I'm really not too sure...

Um... it's kind of hard to parse heaven and hell without an associated religion. I mean, which heaven? Which hell? The Judeo-Christian set? The Greek set? The Egyptian set? The Norse? Valhalla has some rather specific requirements, after all.

For that matter, which Judeo-Christian heaven and hell? According to some Christian mythology, Heaven has multiple sections: Paradise, Hell, Purgatory, Limbo, and the section where the angels live (they don't live in Paradise, although some work there).

According to the oldest Christian texts, Hell is actually a pretty nice place. In fact, it's exactly like Heaven, except you don't get to meet God. That's the only difference. But, for the ancient Christians, getting to meet God was the BEST THING EVER, so not getting to meet him, ever, was truly a fate worse than death.

The Fiery Hell was a Middle Ages invention - so if you're using Dante's Inferno, then that's an entirely different Hell.

ANYWAY...

OT: To answer your question - I'd opt for Terre d'Ange, and prostrate myself to Blessed Elua. Speaking of OTHER locations in Heaven.

Oh hell - defenetly. No question about it. Sloth? Ayup. Rage? Defenetly. Envy? Not so much but its there. Gluttony? No. Greed? Oh hell yes. Vanity? Mhmm.

Basically - not a very "heavenly" guy.

According to Christianity, Hell. Largely because I don't believe in Jesus as god.
According to Judaism, Sheol and because I'm a gentile I'll stay there.
According to Islaam, Hell because I don't believe in the teachings of Muhammad nor in the existence of god.
According to Hinduism (a lot of it anyway), I'll be reincarnated as something other than a human.
According to ancient Greek myth, I'll be in the Asphodel Fields.
According to ancient Norse myth, I'll likely be in Hel, but possibly Valhalla depending on circumstances of death. Let's call it something like 95% probability of Hel.

I think that about covers the basics.

I may deserve to go to Hell, and in fact not be especially suited to Heaven at the moment, but I believe God would have mercy on me and fit me for Heaven nonetheless - not because of who I am, but because of who He is.

I'd say Purgatory if it was allowed by the question's parameters, but it isn't.

To quote a great song, "I'm aiming for heaven, but probably wind up down in hell..."
Yeah, sounds right.

I'd like to think I'd get into heaven based on just being a decent guy, but I sure as hell get a lot of the deadly sins done. Really tho, is sitting back, eating some donuts and thinking about titties really 3 strikes?

I know it's not a religious thread, but my big problem with the christian plan is, I could live my entire life as a good, moral, helpful person, but I'd end up in hell, when sinning christians get the heaven deal.

To me, that's the mark of an arrogant and needy deity. Surely good acts should count for more than simple worship. Hell, doing good because you choose to, rather than because you're scared into it thru eternal damnation, that should be worth more, if anything, to me.

The idea that I'm convinced it's all over when I die, but I spent my time helping others, surely that's 'better' than someone who did good because they already 'knew' they had a cloud and harp booked?
