You keep using that word.

I do not think it means, what you think it means.

People standing up, and calling bullshit on a virulent Marxist-influenced strain of feminist thought because it demands that natural human behaviour ought to be repressed in order to appease the adherents of a philosophy based on little more than hopeless idealism and horribly applied science does not equal hatred.

Repressing people's natural genetic behaviour equals hatred. Just ask the LGBT community.

Or do you think that because I'm not a communist, I must have a hatred of poor people? :p

That rant was totally misdirected, because I was specifically talking about the misogynistic creeps who keep harassing my girlfriend.
See.

You keep using it, and in doing so you insinuate that anyone who disagrees with you and your girlfriend must therefore hate women. When in reality standing up on a soapbox and addressing a controversial issue, any controversial issue, whenever you're not preaching to the already converted, will more frequently than not come with a free complementary serving of rotten tomatoes. That's what your version of equality should look like, and that's how it should operate. They took her seriously enough to challenge her on her opinions, and they did so in a robust fashion without regards to whether her 'delicate feminine sensibilities' might end up being trampled upon during the discussion.

If you equate that with hatred, then when you write of equality you do not write of equality as I understand it. And in that context you also keep using the word feminist to refer to someone seeking equality between the sexes, but you if we do not share the same common notion of equality then I'm afraid that your continued mutilation of the English language will not not build towards a common ground of understanding. And a common ground of understanding cannot be built without robust, open and sometimes brutal debate.

You can take the topic out the serious debate and discussion board, but you cannot take the serious debate and discussion from a topic that sorely needs it.

When guys start harassing my girlfriend over her sexual preference then I'm going to assume they're misogynists, cause why else would someone be harassing my girlfriend over her sexual preference?
It is still not misogyny.

When one makes the innocent mistake of assuming that the philosophy of another person, rather than any life experiences they might have endured through and in part been shaped by, has informed their sexual preferences and what they are comfortable with sexually, that is not hatred.

That is naivety. Sweet, blessed naivety. And you would do well to take note of the difference in the future.

Naiveté does not get one poster put on probation and another poster banned for their behavior towards Boudica. Nor does it cause the two posters in question to harass the mods for several hours over the course of two days in a vain attempt to get her disciplined because she refused to let them bait her.

Further, it does not inspire random assholes to call my girl a 'bint'.
Yes. It does. That is exactly what being naive does.

There is every appearance that nobody went out of their way to correct the ignorance displayed by those posters who were disciplined. Therefore there exists the chance that this train wreck could have been avoided entirely if someone had explained to them why Boudica's sexual preferences are the way they are, and why she is made uncomfortable by the idea of sharing a sexual relationship with a domineering male sexual partner.

If she is indeed uncomfortable with having that discussion then she should be more careful with what she shares online, and with whom she shares it with in the future. If only and solely for her own sake.

If you do not give people the complete picture they are liable to draw the wrong conclusion. And the wrong conclusion which they did draw, was in my mind entirely understandable within the context of a discussion centering on the differences between mainstream feminism and radical feminism, and how those philosophies might effect gender roles when two people share an intimate relationship with one another.

I repeat. This train wreck could have been avoided.

This is just hypercritical Drama Queen BS. You don't get off the way I get off so you must be doing it wrong.

I mean do feminist cry when it's the male being dominated? What if they take turns tying each other up? What if it's two men or two women, is BDSM wrong in all cases? This is just a case of idiots that are crying about something, because they're looking for something to cry about.

FYI how many guys do you know that are getting off to 50 Shades of Grey? Thought so.........

I've seen far, far, worse. There was one radical feminist blog that said that firefly was pure, women-oppressing evil because of its failure to be a story all baout radical femnist women controlling everything. She even said at one point "Let me just say now that I have never personally known of a healthy relationship between a white man and a woman of colour", which is odd for someone pushing for equality.

Here's a link [http://users.livejournal.com/_allecto_/34718.html]. I wouldn't bother commenting on it. Nothing you say will ever come close.
BRB, punching everything.

Fuck me, that was the biggest piece of drivel I've ever read. And people were just lapping it up. I get it's an extremist feminist site, and those sorry excuses for people are practically a minority within a minority, but...

Well, seeing that many people with the IQ of half an overripe lemon is draining, to say the least.

I'm starting to think we should have our own sub-forum for discussing Feminism.

Or you know what?

You know what's more tedious than another feminism thread? People who comment on the thread just to let everyone know how tired they are of seeing feminism threads. We got the message three hundred feminist threads ago (i.e last Sunday) - As kind as it is for you to loudly declare your disinterest, you don't have to trouble yourself any further.
