So I was talking with my buddies about games during class and they brought up COD, much to my dismay. I immediately said "Ugh I can't stand that game," and left it at that. Well, little did I know that an ever growing shit storm was coming my way. My friends would tell their friends that would tell their friends etc that I hated COD. Now I'm receiving messages and from people listing games from my game history and they're going "Assassin's Creed sucks, The Orange Box sucks, Sid Meier's Pirates sucks" so on and so forth. People call me retarded and lame for not liking it. Am I the one with the problem or does my school need to be purged?

I find it hard to believe that your ENTIRE school is made up of fanboys. But seriously, if someone disses OB, they weren't worth your time anyway.

You need to get better friends. When i say to my friends that CoD sucks most agree, some try to debate me, but none get butthurt like a fanboy.

Look at it like this : it gives you an excuse to start hanging out with girls

EDIT: Also get better friends, if they hate you for your opinion on a game then they're probably not worth it.

If they actually do full on hate you for it or something get the fuck away from them.

While if they're just joking or if its not that big a deal to them nevermind.

Lets just put it this way, there's a reason that Call of Duty is popular, and that reason is not that everyone in the world besides you is a dumbass.

I really don't think that there's anything wrong with not liking the call of duty franchise, but when you're going to say that such a popular game is terrible, you really need to back it up with a somewhat informed opinion on the matter. This is something that you did not do, so more than anything else, it would sound like trolling to fans of the game, and in that case, they would be in their rights to shun you.
I have decided to not even bother giving an informed opinion on anything against these people, debating with them is like playing checkers with a 5 year old, they like to change the rules whenever and no matter what, they win.

I tell my friends I don't like some of their favorite games all the time, as they do to me, but since we're actually good friends, we don't shun each other and try to troll each other because of it.

That being the case, Ernie, you should find better friends. If they're really acting like this just because you don't like a popular game that they like, they're not worth your time.

Tell your friends to fuck off and then explain everything to the teachers.

While I would normally agree with this sentiment, people are far to lazy and selfish to listen to a well-formed argument about merits and flaws of a game. Really, the best you can hope for is that saying "I didn't find it fun" will end the conversation. Cite personal gripes then if pressed, but with this sort of thing it's all going to be personal taste.

So really, it is a bit of a dick move on their part to blow it out of proportion because you think differently, but it also seems to be human nature; humans love Us vs Them situations.

Well, I like Black Ops, but I can respect a persons differing opinion. But I find it hard to beleive your whole school has unified to do this to you.

Don't worry, I get the same thing, plus for not liking Dragon Ball Z or Harold and Kumar. Of course, everyone at my university is pretty much a fucktard.

That shows you for trying to be an individual in high school! Hasn't years of high school drama television shows taught us anything?

I like COD. In fact I love COD. I love all the nerfing that came with Black Ops making multiplayer just that much better. That being said, I don't give a shit if someone doesn't like it until they start bitching at me for liking it.

Also Assassins Creed and the Orange Box are fantastic.

Well, it is sort of your fault. You bashed games that everyone likes and you think nothing will happen?
I didn't bash it, at least not in a harsh way. They were talking about which game modes they liked and then asked me which one I liked and I just told them "Ehh I don't play it man, I just can't stand COD." and then that's when the endless barrage of "HOW CAN YOU NOT STAND COD?!"

Add the following poll options...

-Only the Fanboys at my school need a good dicking
-I need a good dicking
-Some folks are just unreasonable
-I need to make less extreme (and more varied) poll options

I'd be torn between the second last and last options, but would have to settle for the latter.

I agree. BlOps may not be the greatest game ever made, but it's defiantly not the worst.

They still have shitty taste in games. Assassin's Creed sucks? Seriously, get new friends. /fanboy
