See, I liked FFXII, especially the realtime combat elements, so I'm hoping this will follow the same lines. I mean, all JRPG's of this ilk annoy me with their incessant FMV sequences but otherwise, I really like them.
I'll be buying it... just not for 6mths and the price halves! ;-)

But yeah, I want FF13 more than I want a game that dispenses kittens out of the consol every time you play it. Because it's the first Final Fantasy with a female lead and I thought 12 was pretty good. That's right, GOOD. I just hope they consentrate more on making the plot compelling this time.

no thank you, the series' continued existence is an insult to Sakaguchi (and to a lesser extent Matsuno). I practically prayed to the gaming gods when Wada said he wanted the FF team to start doing new stuff instead of keeping the company in a permanent holding pattern
I was thinking about that. I mean, the series has been around for quite some time and it has a huge fanbase, so there must be something good about it.
But the trailer didn't sell the game to me and when I heard it would be heavy on cinematics and come on 3 DVDs, I just said no.

It isn't because I don't have any guns, (I like Oblivion) and not because combat is turn based (I like LOTR: the third age) I just don't like the game as a whole for some reason. I quit after 7.
I don't know if it is because It's story is bull shit or the same one over and over. (but I have no right to complain on that mark cause that is what all sequels are.)

I am intrigued because I never used to play RPGs but then Mass Effect got me hooked on the genre. Sadly though I have only played WPRGs.JRPGs seem to be badly received by a large enough portion of gamers that I am a little weary. Most likely, I will rent this and see if I find it as immersive as the WRPGs I have played.
FF 12 sucked arse so i'm not sure i probably wont but who knows maybe it will be as epic as FF 10

No, I don't think anyone is getting FF13. People don't buy obscure, unknown games.
But anyways, from all the JRPGs out there I've played I like Final Fantasy the least, especially due to characters and storyline. FF4 was cool back then, but aside from that I didn't like any of the games. 12 was okay, but not okay enough for me to finish it.
