Poll: So is anyone getting FF13?

I used to love jrgps. Somewhere along the way that changed apparently because I just could not get into Lost Odyssey. I suspect a new FF will be the same scenario so no, I won't be.

I intend to buy it if I can get the money together. But i'd much rather get FFXIV(14) since it is going to be a console mmo. I have been wanting a free to play console mmo for a while now.

based on FFXI, I doubt FFXIV will be free to play.

If it's f2p I will eat my xbox.

I am a pretty big fan of Final Fantasy as a series and own copies of all of them up to 12, but thirteen... TBH looks like crap. Sure it's pretty and everything, but between the simply stupid names of the characters, the fact that you can only play as the main character in your party and when they die you lose, no phoenix downs allowed... I'll pass. It's like they went backwards in RPG time by 10 years. Not to mention the fighting system sounds way too complicated or at least too hard to follow. And even worse, it might just be one of those things that sounds complicated but breaks down to: "press x alot". I will give FF13 a try, but I'm more looking forward to 14 (on pc). And I'm having fun with White Knight, which I believe is a well done "real-time action" system, and what I was hoping for in 13.

My caring about FF died around 9, and had started rotting by 10.

I hope FF13 is going to be a great installment, for those still keeping up with me. Me? I don't think Ill miss too much by not giving a damn.

It's currently #1 on my "to get" list. Hopefully, they'll have made the story much better this time around. Half the time in XII, I didn't know why I was doing what I was doing nor did I really care. Also, Dude With A Chocobo Living In His Afro (can't think of his name right now) looks to have a good shot at being one of my favorite FF characters ever.
