Poll: So is anyone getting FF13?

Getting it - relatively new to FF, since I started with XII, then did Crisis Core. I enjoyed those quite a lot, so I'm looking forward to this one. I tried playing VII on the PS3, but I'm having a hard time getting past the graphics - plus, so much of it was rehashed in Crisis Core that I feel like I haven't missed much.

From what I've heard from people playing the Japanese version it's too linear, too dull especially at the start, no interactivity, cheesy story and annoying cliche characters. So no.

Ever since XI, Final Fantasy has gone downhill. I didn't think VIII was that good, either.

XII crushed my dreams, because the characters are becoming more and more bland, and the games themselves are looking more and more like a J-Pop Video. From what I've heard, some of the main characters are named Lightning and Snow. Just......wow....

First the first time in my life, I may not pick up a copy of the new Final Fantasy game. The direction it's going in is just losing touch with what made people love them.

Where's the answer that says I agree with this guy? Seriously, between Snow's lame character design, the stock anime voice acting, this trailer composed entirely of the most cliched lines ever spoken in any lame action movie, and the piss-poor game design, I don't care how shiny the game looks. I generally like a lot of the other games Square makes, but this one? It's gonna be their worst.

The trailer looked very mediocre to me. Some of the dialogue was cringe-worthy.

I think Final Fantasy X was the last good one they made. I wasted my money on XII, so I dunno if I'm gonna get this one or not. I guess I'll wait for the reviews.

LOTR: The Third Age's battle system is a carbon copy clone of FFX, in every single way. I got the Third Age, beat it, and returned it because it was a blatant rip-off.

I love Final Fantasy. These game have to do somethign pretty terrible for me to hate them. Closet I came was the luck based looting to get all the items for certain weapons in FFXII. Seriously, endless chains required just because only one creature in the entire game can drop a certain loot, and the drop percentage is 0.3%!?!?!? I actually went mental getting the tournasol.

The more I think about it FFXII was so unnecessarily harsh getting ultimate equipment. There were 4 random chests spread across the game where if opened would remove a chest later on containing the Zodiac Spear which is the all round greatest weapon in the game. The only way to get it after was in a huge dungeon constantly entering/exiting and runner for a mintue each way to a respawning chest which had 0.1% or 1 in 1000 chance of containing the spear. THERE'S NO NEED TO BE LIKE THAT SQUARE!!!!

You are asking if I am qualified to hate an entire series and most of its genre? No, I certainly am not. But fuck you! You have no need to be like that! I'll hate them irrationally if I want!
