*sigh* I was just friend-zoned a couple of hours ago, why did you have to remind me of something that I was thinking of anyway?

Let him know that he has a shot with her. Otherwise, he might never know.

As for me; nope. I think I may have friend-zoned an interested guy a few years ago though... I wish I hadn't: he was awesome, and I think (with the magical power of hindsight) we could have had something good - if only for a few months.

I have 2 questions:
1. Why did she ask the guy she likes if they could be friends, that just doesn't make sense?
2. You're sister is a grown ass woman why do you care?
Yeah, I'm not seeing any problems with her methods either.
You're kidding, right? She got drunk and asked if "would you be my fweind?" To a guy she had a crush on.

You don't see a problem?

Did she take a picture of her boobs and send it to the guy while drunk?

No?

Then she's not all that dumb.

I can think of many things more stupid than this. Changing who you are to remain in a relationship for example.
Ugh, that's terrible. That seems to be a teenage habit that some people just don't grow out of.

"Let's be friends" is the oldest friend-zoning line ever in the history of friend-zoning lines.
My girlfriend and I started off as friends.
I'm sorry, but that along with your avatar made me chuckle.

OT: I don't think what she did was that stupid, it could have been alot worse.

Seriously, if this is the "stupidest" thing your sister has ever done drunk she's a pretty smart gal. It's only a short step from friend to something more.

Oh man, OP, this is hilarious!

I can't believe your sister said something responsible and mature while drunk!

Everyone knows you're supposed to do something brash and immature, something you'll regret for the rest of your life; otherwise, you're not cool, like the rest of us.

You should totally update us on all the mature and responsible decisions she makes in her life; it'll be laugh out loud funny!

it's missing the "just". The line is "Let's JUST be friends". There is no exclusivity in the line "let's be friends".

Friend-zone is one of the biggest piles of bullshit the internet has ever produced, I know loads of people (including my own parents) who's relationships were preceded by friendships. It's just a myth made up by guys who can't work out why sometimes you might not like someone in that way even if you like them as a friend.
Agreed. My boyfriend and I were friends for 2.5 years before we started dating. Now we've been together for 2 years and moving in together in August.

Being friends with somebody that you like?
MY GOD! Does she she have Down's Syndrome? How else could she possibly be so daft!?

(Above sarcasm is sarcastic. No offence to anybody with Down's Syndrome.)

Better than never asking in the first place.

Proactive decision making generally gives results. Admittedly, my views of life are very proactive, I want to make decisions and progress forward rather than sitting and being indecisive. Therefore when I see people who were initially indecisive making proactive choices I applaud them in an attempt to reinforce that active decision making is a good thing.

So she was drunk, it's really not that big of a deal.

Don't worry OP, you're young still. You will hear things that are truly dumb eventually. This is kinda a non-story.

To be fair, going to the other end of the scale while pissed is much worse.

[sub]And most guys are kind of happy at the thought that someone isn't fucking their sister.[/sub]
The guy she likes is a pretty cool dude, and after her last boyfriend (the epitome of bad boyfriends, story for another setting), I decided I'd better offer her some guidance on finding half-decent males.
Ok sorry for this... but people like that really piss me off... not meaning to be bitchy or anything... but she's grown up, she has to make her own mistakes in life.
And who's to say that they may not have a lasting relationship, I was best friends with my current gf for years and we couldn't be happier together
"Letting her make her own mistakes" isn't the same as "She asks for my help and I give it".. Besides, I wouldn't be a good brother if I took no interest in my sister's welfare at all. I don't know what kind of family you come from, but in mine that's how shit rolls.
