I am a multiplayer maniac. I can only play through a games SP one time before I crave multiplayer. If the game has multiplayer elements, chances are that is what I will spend my time on. It provides so much more of an experience as opposed to playing alone. Though I still love RPG games like Dragon Age:Origins or Fallout.

Not while the little buggers are spending their nights mastering grenades while the rest of us are dating girls.

I know not an exact quote, but most of the spirit is intact - especially the girls part.

I usually get a game for online.

Single Player/Campaign - 40%
Multiplay online - 60%

This can vary depending on the game though.
You need to get Left 4 Dead so you can be our sacrifice.
Please and Thank you.

Aside from that, I love playing multiplayer.

Because I love playing video games with my boyfriend. :)
It's how we spend time together sometimes and I love it!

me !!

its not an a mode/function that needs to be in every game for me to buy it but yeh when its done well or adds to the experince i generally enjoy it more than the single player.
exactly this. mainly, for me, multiplayer gives a game far more replay value. as many hours of my life as i've sunk into the various Fallout games over the past 15(?) years, i shudder to think of how little i would have accomplished if there'd been multiplayer for them (multiplayer in Tactics and BoS don't count... actually BoS doesn't count period). i'll probably have to commit myself for my own protection if Fallout: Online is ever released.

Haters gonna hate, I just around only play multiplayer. My top played games are Killing Floor and Team Fortress 2, online-only games.

sort-of I like Tf2 (which is only MP) but I hate it that the FPS industries obsesses about it

I love it in theory. I just hate how games are so focused on them the way they are. Personally though, I prefer co-op to competitive. I love games that offer co-op, which is why I have come to love Saints Row 2, despite initial reservations about the series.

I remember a time when most games didn't had multiplayer, and having multiplayer in a game was something that would make gamers glad that the developers added it.
Today multiplayer is getting more attention that single player in most cases.

I don't "hate or love multiplayer",that's a too general statement to do.

I generally enjoy more playing with other friends in the same room than online.
The fun of watching your friends faces when you kill them is very nice :D

I rarely like online multiplayer.
Actually the only online multiplayer games I liked where Quake Live and Return to Castle Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory.

Quake got my attention because it was the fastest, most andrenaline rushing game I've ever played, while RTCW:ET was the deepest one I played and required great teamwork and tactics, and it was the first FPS multiplayer that featured an "objective" mode.

To enjoy an online multiplayer,it has to be unique and too innovative or I just don't care.
But local multiplayer games where you can just put 4 controllers in your console and/or link it with another console in the same room,is very funny and I like it very much. :)

Not I, sir. Not I.

I just don't see the point unless you're playing with people in the same room.

um, to be able to play it anytime..? Sure local play is fun, but their are many times were friends can't come over, so Multi online fits perfectly.

And I actually have a 360, I'm just not keeping it.
Going to be selling it here soon.

So what do you think about being the sacrifice? xD

It depends on the game obviously, but when I buy a shooter these days I merely see it as a bonus if the campaign is any good at all. While I do grow tired of the multiplayer quickly as well, that's the primary attraction.

I have also been violently sucked into the world of Co-Operative multiplayer and MMO by some annoying friends. So yeah, I do enjoy multiplayer.
Annoying? Why, yes. Thank you for the compliment.

FRIENDS!? You cheeky ba---

*coughs*

I get on well with anything cooperative, but competitive multiplayer (in particular with strangers) makes my skin crawl. And I don't like that. Skin crawling.
