Say you are a reviewer for a fairly decent magazine, and a company were to come up to you and offer you some money to lie and say one of their recent games is good. Would you do it?

No, i'm not waiting to hear responses such as 'I'm a perfect little saint, I would never do that, it's against what gamers stand for.' because you sound like a retard. Nor do i want answers like 'Hell yeah, I'm secretly the devil and sacrifice goats in my room.' because you also sound like a retard. Putting it into all aspects of honesty and truth, would you do it?

Remember this is for an imaginary decent magazine, not for a person who rants on their own in the dark..

EDIT: Apologies for sounding extremely attacking :)
EDIT AGAIN: Well okay, you're all asking for how much cash, I'm british so it shall be in British Sterling.

around £400?

No, no, no, no. And not just in this situation, I just don't take bribes period. For a stupid reason though, it's because I feel bad for the person giving me money.

So would you give a good review if they begged without a bribe? Even if it was a bad game?

Definitely.
Of course, I'd hide words in there that showed my real opinion, while giving it a good review at the same time.

take the money and then speak my mind. If they say they bribed me i deny it. Even though that person/comapny wil never bribe me again. They should learn a lesson bribes are bad

Depends on how good the game is.

If it's good, and they pay me to do a good review, than we all win. If it's bad, well then they can just suck it.

Depends if the game was good or not if it was good and they still bribed me I would take the money and just give my opinion, if it was bad and they tried to bribe me I would see how much they would pay, if it was a high amount then I would take the money, give my opinion on it and then tell like some big gaming magazine that thy tried to bribe me and just see what would happen then.

Take the money, then give an honest review. I'm not going to sacrifice credibility because they want me to give them a good review in a decent magazine. But I will take their money and tell them just how good their game really is.

I went with "depends how much"... cause well, everything is for sale these days afterall, and heck if they dont bribe me they'll get someone else instead. Might as well take the money but only if it was worth it. Not gonna fake review for $5.

Besides how many people these days take magazine reviews that seriously, everyones gonna make thier own mind up on things in the end, whether or not I fake review something because of a bribe or honestly review something (and probably flood my inbox with hate emails if my opinion doesnt match thiers)... I'm just making a nice bonus in the process

Probably not. Not because of any moral qualms but because I'd lose credibility and possibly future jobs.

Actually I'd probably leave cause I would feel bad for the guy begging...

Someone saying that doesn't sound at all retarded, they just have better morals than you. It would depend on how much money they're offering and what consequences I could face though for a bribe.

No, because in all honesty, it's wrong, and I'd hate to make some dumb punk buy a bad game because of me.

Either that, or I'd see how high they'd be willing to pay me, you know, as a joke, but if I got to a million just to review a game...I'd consider it.
