I hope the next-gen systems have more online and multi-media entertainment. I want to be able to watch my favorite TV shows, movies, browse the internet, and stream my own music with a game still going in the background, like multiple tabs. I'm talking about the PS4 here as I'm really interested in the Vita's potential remote capibilities and what updates might bring to the systems.

With a new Playstation I want to be able to download games, demos, videos and other stuff with my Vita even if I'm miles away from home.

As far as games, I hope AI is the thing that recieves the most attention. I'm fine with where graphics and visuals are now, 1080p everything and I'm set. It's not that big a deal for me. I hope next-gen game discs or whatever kind of material they use, double up from Blu-Ray. More space leads to more content, unlockables, BTS material, and extras.

Some games I'm looking forward to in the next-gen. I'm pretty sure these are next-gen now.
I'm also really interested in the Wii U too so I'll pre-order that as soon as I can.

- Kingdom Hearts 3 (PS4)
- Beyond Good & Evil 2 (PS4)
- Super Smash Bros 4 (Wii U)
- Monolith Soft New IP (Wii U)

Well seeing as far as I know nothing has been announced outside the Wii U I am not looking forward to the next console generation but im also not not looking forward to it mainly because I know nothing of what they hope to bring to the table its hard to get excited or upset about speculative things.

As for the Wii U well im pretty apathetic at the moment but hopeful I will probably get one eventually after all Bayonetta 2 is coming out on it dont ya know : )

Im pretty happy with the current gen though I still feel they could push the hard ware a lot more. For the next gen they need to find better ways to develop games because the time and money of making a game (that tries to push the hardware) is pretty ridiculous if they want to add even more complexity well things are only going to get worse unless they can streamline operations.

I dont actually have time to game as much as I would like anymore so that curbs my enthusiasm but I am curious as to what they will bring to the table this time.

I'm not looking forward to it actually. I don't really care either way. I have no interest in consoles really anymore. I just play my compooter now.

I've got a PC with a sub-zero cooled i7 3930K at 5GHz+ and a GTX590 (waiting for 780s to buy two of those).

I'm not waiting for the next gen to catch up, I'm waiting for the one after that.

Four words: New Super Smash Brothers. Not sure if it's the best reason, but that along might be enough to get me to buy the Wii-U.

Voted: I have a powerful PC and have been waiting for consoles to catch up to ME

Pretty much says it.

I do rather look forward to the next console generation though since it'll be setting the bar for what hardware new PCs will need for the next decade or so of gaming. So my current PC will fair quite well with maxing out new games for a good long while after the consoles launch, and by that point, the upgrades that'll allow my PC to max out games until the next console generation will be dirt cheap.

considering that budgets are already choking a lot of developers, i really don;t want the 'OMG MOAR BETTAR GRAFFICZ!' obsession to be pushing that any higher.

besides, if you want me to gush over what I consider good looking games, your going to see me doing so over stuff like Beyond Good and Evil HD and BlazBlue, not the latest cod, halo or gears.

I can't wait for the WiiU to print money and the console wars to spring up again.

Frankly, I'm not. I don't feel like ponying up a few hundred dollars just to keep up with the newest titles. I'm happy with what I have now, thanks.

I'm not bothered. I'll be dropping out of the console scene - and gaming altogether - once the death kneel rings for this gen.

Not that I'm being dismissive about the next generation of consoles, far from it, I love the potential that they may have, but I am also accutely aware that the manufacturers are going to be too hung up on shitty gimmicks that no-one honestly gives a shit about (like motion controls), they'll be crippled by DRM and will be focussed - more likely that not - on graphics.

But as others have said, the potential of the actual processors to give us things like better AI (sorely needed), a greater range of animations, and less fucking loading screens (dear god please! Fewer loading screens).

Basically, all I want is to be able to go anywhere on the Normandy without having to sit through half a dozen loading screens. Also, in ALL RPGs, I want to be able to go into buildings without having to sit through loading screens. I never really noticed it when I started with this generation, so maybe I've become fatigued and jaded, but nothing is more immersion breaking than having to wait on a static screen giving you gameplay hints several times between going from your house, to the store, to sell your crap, to the next quest givers house.

But like I say, it doesn't really matter that much to me, since I wont be getting involved. I'm too old for gaming now.

I'm still waiting for stuff like real-time sound synthesis to be put into use.

Brace yourselves for SCIENCE!

That seems indeed very interesting! Sound can do wonders to make you feel immersed in a game. I still wonder why the iMuse sound system which Lucasarts used in the 90s and made the tunes adapt themselves to what was happening on the screen wasn't used more or improved. I remember Spore had some interesting music technology also. I mean, what's special about games is interactivity, so I want the music and sound to be more interactive to the environment and to the action on the screen.

Also there should be some kind of development in A.I.. Really, it hasn't improved at all in all these years! F.E.A.R. still has one of the best AI and it seems to get worse every year, instead of better.

I would also like procedural stories and gameplay which adapt to your decision and abilities. No more difficulty settings! Just let the game decide if it should be easier or harder for me.

I'd also like some kind of good voice synthesis, so we could have lots and lots of dialogue without the need to pay a lot of money to actors. That way we really could have something as a full-talkie Planescape Torment and games like Mass Effect would indeed make each person's story be different, by giving you more choices and making the characters say different dialogues.

Really, graphics are like the last thing developers should focus on now.

I want bigger open worlds. I'm simple and shameless in my desires. It's just what I like. It would be nice to play an Elder Scrolls or Fallout that didn't have to load every time I opened a door. Imagine opening a door to a building and just looking in from the outside. It would be amazing.

I'm not planning on buying any next gen. consoles, but I would like to see how the industry changes and evolves over the course of the next generation.

Looking forward to the retarded price tag, guarenteed 800-1000 since the 360 and PS3 were each 700 respectively at launch

This may sound a bit to elitist but here goes:

They have been milking this generation of consoles for over 7 years for far too long.

I personally can't wait for next generation so the consoles can finally keep up or be on par with the PC so we all can get high quality games. And hopefully the ported ones that will eventually happen won't be pulled down by their lesser power and not force the port into "locked 30fps" territory etc.
