I'm waiting for the cancer that is modern console gaming to die spectacularly with the next generation. Nintendo gets a pass if they finally dare let go of their beloved franchises, and if not then they can crash and burn among the rest of 'em. With any luck some of the worst publishers will also fall in the resulting crash. I've completely lost hope that the current generation of companies can fix the problems in gaming.

Curiosity. Simple, blatant, curiosity. I like new stuff.
Thats roughly my feelings.

But back when the PS3, 360, and Wii were the "next gen", I got shocked by how expensive they were, specially the PS3. So Im not looking forward to seeing the prices for the the coming generation.

I currently do not have the money for this generation's consoles, so my excitement for the new generation of consoles in like that of the Beijing Olympics.

"Oh, that'll be nice for the people involved. Must be great."

I'm not looking forward to the next gen, mainly because I don't even have a console from THIS gen.

Honestly? I'm indifferent. I'm not really looking forward to shelling out more money for another console and having yet another collection of obsolete games which no doubt will not be backwards compatible. Sigh.

Great games are not defined by power, graphics or disc space. There's some fantastic games coming up for the current gen (Beyond: Two Souls, Watch Dogs, The Last of Us, The Last Guardian, Bioshock Infinite etc.) so the next gen can just stew as far as I'm concerned.

I'm not. Why would anyone willingly WANT to fork out $500+ for the new Xbox or Playstation? Sure, I'll do it, I may even enjoy the product I purchase, but I won't like handing over that money. Shit if it were up to me this generation would last another 7 years. There is one good side I suppose, when the new console comes out the Xbox live (and PSN) community will shrink considerably, because not every parent will rush out to buy their child the new $800 console, well I hope this is the case at least. A man can dream.

I'm looking forward to riding around on my high horse, gloating about how consoles are still inferior whilst stroking my beautiful, beautiful PC.

But, I know I'm still going to buy all of the new consoles. D:

This might make me sound like a PC elitist, but the main reason I'm waiting for the next-gen consoles is so that Developers can make games that won't be limited to 7 year old hardware. Ain't gonna buy any of the consoles; but sure do I hope they have a release soon. It's just holding us back at this point.

I voted "I have a powerful PC...". That's a lie though, it's mainstream 2010. Still plays every fucking game at 2560x1440 because that shitty Xbox holds everything back.

Crysis was 5 years ago, this is ridiculous. We'd be having photorealistic (still) graphics, better AI, bigger worlds and realistic PhysX by now if we wouldn't cater to the handicapped market first.

I'm tired of this shit.

Also, on my wishlist for the next-gen is support for keyboard and mouse. I'd get a console if I wasn't limited to a controller, which makes me feel like the Paralympics. I'm not saying they should get rid of controllers for the people who like to game on the couch. Just give me choice! I'd be willing to buy Microsoft input devices if need be. I'd like to ditch the PC altogether, I'm working on a notebook and surfing on a tablet anyway.
