If they lowered the difficulty from 'brick wall' to something actually plausible, I'd play it, something like L4D with a more amusing narrative.

They've certainly built enough project 115 mythology (for those of you who don't know, the nazi teleportation experiment that gave rise to the zombies, hellhounds, and other such monstrosities), with a few gameplay tweeks and more fleshing out of the story, it's certainly possible.

I don't really care it could be a good idea if they did what Rockstar did with Red Dead and release a stand alone version of their zombie thing.

It'd be too "inventive" for Infinity Ward to actually do this.

They make the same game over and over again with slightly evolved controls, guys, and you keep buying it. Face the facts.
I don't think that's particularly fair, it's not like IW are/were completely brain dead drones who do things to be deliberately dull.

Same goes for Treyarch, who were the ones who created the Nazi Zombies mode.
Adding mods to a game does not equate making a true new game. That would take effort on the creativity front, which I have no reason to suspect either company to exert.

I would so want that. Also customizable weapon locations and such would be nice, adding your own songs, possibly making your own characters.

MORE WEAPONS. The more the merrier.
Locations and such different and in places one would want to fight zombies in: (Suburbs, Office Setting, Upper Class Mansion, Cruise Ship, Baseball Stadium.)

Thats a bit harsh to say don't you think? Left 4 Dead got a sequel with some "mods" and it was still great. A new game is a new game regardless, even then, at least Treyarch are trying (And so far have Succeeded). Also I should mention, IW is dead.

Zombies is about the only thing CoD has going for it now, IMO.
Pretty much, yeah. CoD now is 3 games. Single player (meh), Multiplayer (meh), Zombies (OH YES!)
On PC, actually, Singleplayer and Multiplayer are two different exectuables.

If I want a great Zombie game I'll play Left 4 Dead. If I want a great wave based team shooter I'll play Killing Floor. Cod does neither of those to anywhere near the same degree, I just found it boring.

I think they should definitely make an attempt.

I would buy it, personally. A minimum of 25 maps though, or I'll be pissed.

AND BE CREATIVE, TREYARCH. YOU KNOW YOU CAN.

Yes. Without a doubt.

With at least like,

-6 or 7 maps or more each with a clever theme (underwater city, in the middle of World War II, in an abandoned city, in a normal neighborhood, etc.).
-Include all of the old maps for both, previous games.
-Tightened controls.
-ADD A HEALTH BAR OR SOMETHING (the "two hits" rule is bullshit and leads to stupid zombies glitching out and somehow taking you down with one hit WITH juggernaut).
-Many more perks.
-Many, many more guns (some map specific).

I'd say Left 4 Dead would be fine but I hate the fast moving zombies. Left 4 Dead would be wayyy better if it had twice as many zombies but moved slower (Romero zombies). Oh, and the "zombie hitting you, therefore you cannot move fast" is stupid as hell.

I haven't wanted a game specifically made for a mini-game since Final Fantasy X's blitzball. I'm still waiting for that game...
Yeah I hate the two hits kills you. Not saying you should survive many many hits, but there is some times where zombies won't make contact but still counts as a hit. Also crawlers imo should do less dmg.

And that would be because they make Call of Duty games? That's a pretty closed-minded way of thinking.

Just because someone makes a bad game, doesn't mean they don't have the capacity to make a good one. It's the same with creativity. Just because someone makes war shooters for a living, doesn't mean they can't do anything else.

Awhile back, me and some friends were playing some Black Ops zombies when this very idea popped up. We realized the only reason we hadn't traded Black Ops in was zombies, we didn't really play the normal mp that much. We also realized we esentially paid $15 for one zombies map (It was the only part of ascension we gave a shit about). It would be really awesome if it included more unrealistic weapons like the thundergun and ray gun. Maybe around 12 maps, various modes to give it more lasting appeal. Maybe aome competitive modes where, for example, a group of people enter a large map, and whoever kills the most zombies before time runs out wins. also it would be nice to have some objective based co-op modes. In short, hell ya that would rule.

Probably because the entire thing is a shitty minigame that they use to continue to sell the overpriced shit for the main franchise.

I wouldn't buy or enjoy any Call of Duty game, especially if it was just an expanded version of the most boring survival mode in recent gaming.

I think there should be an Xbox Live Arcade Title of just Call of Duty zombies, with the original mode and maybe a short campaign too.
If they did make one, I think an arcade release would be more appropriate than a full price retail game. But this is Activision we're talking about.

The Call of Duty low-hp short life engine and weaponry as well as gun and movement physics make a terrible zombie game. Zombies need to be an obstacle, not an objective. The goal of a zombie apocalypse is not to kill zombies but to stay alive against the threat of zombies, but the backwards system of rounds and points to buy upgrades make the point irrelevant, and also why the Nazi zombies minigame only fun for about 5 rounds before becoming a tedious grind of luck based drops and annoying game overs.
