Yeah, I almost certainly will, as soon as I get my student loan on Monday. Maybe sooner if I can find a few quid elsewhere. Signing up by Wednesday means that a year's subscription costs less than I spend on Diet Coke in a week - seems silly not to, particularly since I'm trying to give up the caffeine anyway.
Too much money for so little content. Why on earth would i want to watch ZP HD? Also, i liek the ads, i end up viewing them and in turn bought some pretty good gaming/escapist merc.
This is basically what Habbo Hotel did (BACKFLASH INTO THE PAST - Includes funky white washed warp).. Habbo Club makes its users pay for extra stuff which is basically useless. Why pay for somethign which you can do anyway? For example, we can still use the forums, watch the videos etc.
Replacing a perfectly good condition & usable coin for a more shiny one, but for money.

I'm guessing the people all on the "If I have to pay, I'll leave/Not worth it" camp haven't been to some of the 'wilder' message boards out there. I'd pay double the regular price if it meant I could frequent a board without having to worry about trolls and flamers. And since the Escapist's mods are some of the best in the biz, I'd call it a win.
Also, pumping more money into something you like to support it only leads to improvements.... kinda like video games.
I mean, fair enough if you don't have the cash or a credit card, but just don't think that everyone who wanted to contribute to this awesome site with a little bread are suddenly elitists or something.

I'd like to, but right now I lack both a credit card and regular source of money (a.k.a job). Once I get those two things I'll probably look into it.
As soon as I get back home. I'm in Egypt right now, and I want to be able to pay for the service the second I land in Dubai. So yeah. Pretty soon. Only problem is I'll have only 3 days to do it once I get back to Dubai. Besides. 10 dollars. What's the big deal?
I've decided to join, despite having the issues of student fee's and such as a lot of people do really $10 for a year is pretty much nothing considering how much I lurk on the site.
I'm pretty happy with the way the Escapist provides a platform for talented regular people to get their work out there in the features and video's, and meshes it with pretty comprehensive gaming/geek interest and news all in one place, that alone makes me happy enough to give them some money, that and some of the flashing adverts recently have been making my eyes bleed.
Normally cant ever be bothered to post on forums though, so the premium sections might be somewhat wasted on me. :/

Seriously, I know people dont have credit cards/cant be arsed with amazon (really random payment method for a subscription!) but are my fellow students really so skint that they cant sign up for something because of $10?Superbeast said:
