I am forever indebted to you for that advice sir.curlycrouton said:You construct a PS3 from a banana pudding, that's what you do.timmytom1 said:I want a PS3.....But i also want banna pudding......WHAT DO I DO!!!???
Are you serious? Why the fuck would you do that? Are graphics seriously that important to people? Do games now have a magical bust in your pants function that's only reserved for really high-end-graphics games? *rhetorical*Sacman said:I'm only saying yes because I promised myself that I won't play FFXIII unless I play its graphics at there full potential...that means not on the xbox 360...
YES This!Wargamer said:Grab Warhawk - it's an awesome game.
Grab the Top Gun soundtrack - you can have it playing as background music whilst playing Warhawk, and that kicks the Awesome Levels up off the scale.
Yes, its the ps2 compatibility that was lostxxhazyshadowsxx said:Doesen't that work for all of them?Macgyvercas said:get a 60 gig though. then you can play the old PS titles
I think for the most part I agree with what you're saying, even if it did seem like you were contradicting yourself most of the time. I just didn't agree with his/her presentation. I just get tired of the fact that every time I watch a review or see some game play footage and say, "wow that looks really good" I then have to justify it by saying, "the game play of course, not the graphics", because we're at the point now in video game industry where there are certain visual standards to be met, and basically that's THE big selling point for most people unfortunately. "Yeah the game play sucked, but fuck it looked awesome!" The logic has gone out the window with people wanting the next great thing, paying sixty bucks for it, then a year later saying, "man that game is old as fuck." Now we're stripped of a lot of potentially better games because of the state of the economy, no one wants to take a chance, they would rather go with the safe bet. So in turn you have your: Assassins Creed 2, Bioshock 2, Modern Warfare 2, God of War 3, Crackdown 2, Left for Dead 2 (LFD just came out a year ago!) Lego Rockband, Beatles Rockband, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Blow me in the Fucking ass 4. You get the point. It's fan service at it's best, and it sucks balls, sir.Mornelithe said:Actually Hailmagus, I had this same conversation with someone on the PS forums recently. But, I won't use FF as an example, I'll simply talk in general terms. What I currently hate about the games industry, is not that everything is multi-platform...but how the multi-platform development for games runs. For all intents and purposes, they generalize the game enough so that both consoles can support it, while allowing for scaling on the high-end for PCS. What they do not do, is optimize games, for the PS3's hardware specifically, AND the 360's hardware specifically, in order to push those machines' hardware to their limits. Why? Because developers fear fanboy backlash, if game X performs better than game Y.hailmagus said:Are you serious? Why the fuck would you do that? Are graphics seriously that important to people? The stupid thing here is that, both consoles are quite similar, so in the end, the only differences would be microscopic at best, and at worst, you'd see a few extra objects on screen in version A, but slicker looking graphics for version B. You follow?
This, really, really bothers me. Because, honestly, it makes me not want to buy any multi-platform console games. My PC dogstomps both consoles, so what's the point? It's not a matter of graphics are everything, it's a matter of, the game can go higher...I have the ability to see it that way...so why not?
Ultimately, it's the developers fault, for attempting to aquiesce to every fanboy, rather than bringing forth their DREAM. Pay ~$50-$60 for a game that's not even designed to it's full potential on your platform of choice? I'd be pissed off whether I was a 360 or a PS3 owner.

Yeah, but as far as we know, FFX13 plays the same on both the 360 and PS3. So wouldn't you want to get the "superior" version regardless if it's just better in terms of graphics or technical stuff? People like having the best of everything, so even if it is as minuscule as 2% less jags on character models, it gives you the sense of superiority.hailmagus said:Condense
I dont think i could pass on 40% off either.wgreer25 said:I've had a 360 for a long time now and only recently got my PS3. I got it when Circuit City went out of buisness for 40% off (couldn't pass it up). Having owned it now for a few months, my play time is about 10/1 in favor of my Xbox. None of the PS3 exclusives have really held my interest. And any cross platform games I usually get on the Xbox due to my friend base there.
However, God of War 3 should be epic and I am very glad I have my PS3 if only for that one reason.
I know I didn't give you a resounding buy/don't buy... but maybe this info will be helpful.
