Wort wort wort, my fellow brethren. I have played as an Elite since Halo 2, with my bright orange and blue armor. Therefore, I answer your poll by stating "Elite."

While I haven't played Reach, I've always preferred Spartans. Yes, it's much easier to locate where the "head" box is on a Spartan, but good gods the Elite is a huge target.

I've been an elite fan since the first Halo. Normally I'm a loyal member of Mankind, but Elites have always held a strange charm for me.

Elites. I think spartans look better but elites are stronger than spartans (not speculation bungie has confiremed this in one of thier updates)

Who wants to play as a bloody dinosaur?

APART FROM VREX
Who is Vrex?
ether i got trolled or not you should know who's WREX(corret spelling)
he's an alien from mass effect his race is called krogan, they are an almost extinct race because salarians(another race from amss effect) released the genopahge virus on them(which makes breeding almost imposible)
BTW wrex is badass since he's a battlemaster and a biotic(biotic enhancements to a person give him psychic abilities)He also has red eyes and really big huge red spiky scales on his back and head.

I could go into greater detail in this post about how awesome and mighty the Holy Sangheili are, and how the ability to roll, have quick regenerative health and being able to take more damage (to an extent) and being noticeably faster has its advantages. Or how the Elites are blatantly the cooler species and that I identify with their proud warrior culture far better than I do of the Spartans, or that Elites are just COOL.
But I've actually found an image on the internet that works far better at saying, than words ever could in a million years, my exact feelings on this whole Spartan Vs. Elite debate:

There we go, that summarizes the whole thing.

Go the Sangheili!!

That said, Spartans still have their place now too, but my preferred species is always going to be the Elite.
and yet it literally takes entire armies of you dirty aliens to even properly challenge a single spartan. so much for all that superior agility and tech garbage.

Oh, and an image of my own feelings on the matter

OT: Spartans, all the way. They may not have the strength, speed, or technology of the elites, but they really don't need em anyway.

Elite. Always. I refuse to play any Bungie games after Halo 3, so for me it is purely an aesthetic thing.

...You feel more for genocidal xenos that want to wipe us out because we are proof that their religion is wrong?
Well yea. It's kinda like why I prefer Space Marines in 40k. Religious fanatics are always fun to play as.

Also, Elites just look 30,000,000 times better than any Spartan.

I kinda wish there weren't any non-cosmetic differences between the two though. I vastly prefer playing as an elite, and I rarely get the chance in Reach.

Actually, Vrex is a poster on the Escapist. He's fairly obviously a Sanghelli fanatic, and is somewhat known for it.

I like the spartan armour - and I like that compared to the elites they're so tiny! They've got the underdog thing going for them, and I like that. I've never actually played halo online to know what the play style differences are, just stylistically I love the tiny little humans doing their best to stave off these huuuuge things.

I favor the Spartan, a choice dictated entirely by the inherent differences between the weapons. Covenant weapons have significant travel time making hitting a target consistently at any significant range is difficult where human weapons are, with rare exception, hit-scan (which means they arrive on a target the same frame in which they were fired) making it significantly easier to apply firepower to a moving distant target.

Of course, the result is that covenant weapons tend to be superior to an equivalent human weapon at close range, but I'd still take the flexibility offered by enhanced range in exchange for a hair less theoretical firepower.

There are exceptions. The covenant sticky grenade launcher is an utter cheater gun for example, and the needle rifle is often the better choice for an intense shootout (as the accuracy of said weapon is more consistent in a rapid fire scenario). Still, the smaller frame of a Spartan tends to be worth quite a bit, and to be honest there are few problems the DMR cannot efficiently resolve.
