Hello Friends!

I had a quick question for the community. How many of you use a standard size monitor and how many of you use a wide-screen monitor?

Also, do you plan on buying a widescreen in the near future?

Your feedback is most appreciated!

Best,

Widescreen. And after my best friend, my roomate, and my parents saw my monitor, they all had to have one also. Not sure if I even know anyone anymore with a CRT display.

I upgraded from a standard size screen to a wide screen about 3 to 4 years ago just to see the difference. Now that I use a wide screen regularly I wouldn't go back.

Widescreen. Although Stereoscopic 3D will certainly replace that in a year or two. Google that shit. It exists.

My new computer came with a widescreen monitor, but it was only 10 inches wide so I sold it for more than I paid for my computer and kept my old Dell's monitor and speakers because they were far superior to that "baby's first LCD".

Don't misunderstand and fling poo at me, I already have a good 27" widescreen on layaway at the local Walmart and I'm just waiting for a few more.. /sigh.. years until I can pay for it.

Widescreen is my primary, standard is my secondary.
I guess you could say I have the best of both worlds.

I have two standard monitors. I don't think any desk in the world has enough room for two widescreen monitors. Even so, I just don't see the point in widescreen. It's great for movies but with games the wider the screen the harder it is to keep track of everything that's going on and dual monitors gives me more than enough desktop real estate. I have never thought "If only my screens were four inches wider".

I'm going to stubbornly stick with 4:3 no matter what. 1280x1024 is more than enough for anything I do (OK, so that's actually 5:4 but you get the idea).

But to be serious, I don't know anything about what is and isn't standard size.

I have a laptop. Do they even MAKE widescreen laptops?

Call me old-fashioned but I actually prefer standard size over widescreen
