I have to admit, I thought Battlefront had a very different feel from Battlefield. It was the same capture the area gameplay, but that's only painting with the broadest strokes. Battlefield is much more open world and distributed and squad focused and Battlefront was packed much tighter and a lot more sort of cartoony in feel and play (to me at least)Capitano Segnaposto said:Just because you were immersed in one and not the other doesn't mean that they weren't, at the core, carbon copies of each other. Just as Saints Row was a clone of GTA. That isn't to say that they didn't add and remove things to improve on the core gameplay of what they were trying to show off.The_Lost_King said:Except it wasn't... At least that's not how it ended up, it may have started like that but it didn't end up like that.Capitano Segnaposto said:...That is what Battlefront was...SlaveNumber23 said:I have mixed feelings, I'm a huge fan of the Star Wars Battlefront series but I hate the Battlefield series. Hopefully they don't try and make it Battlefield with a Star Wars skin.
Battlefield with a Star Wars skin. Honestly, if they do it WELL, I don't see the issue. And they did do it well, twice.
I have played battlefield and I have played battlefront. They are very different and Battlefield has never sucked me in like Battlefront.
EDIT:The range of combat felt closer too and they were good at making the blaster rifles feel like proper laser bolts
It's worth repeating what was said up-thread. This isn't DICE who are making the game. It's DICE Los Angeles who were known until 5 months ago as ... Danger Close. The creators of all the cruddy Medal Of Honour Games. EA just renamed them so that people would think DICE were making the game and assume the studio in charge is competent. As you can see from this thread, it workedWouldYouKindly said:It's DICE, all their games are made for PC... except Bad Company 1.endtherapture said:It hasn't been announced on PC, so I have no interest in it and will have none until it's been announced on PC.
Also...expect Day One DLC, online passes, pay2win weapons, a levelling system...maybe even pay2win unlocking classes and vehicles...because it's EA.
Also, apparently the hawks at wikipedia caught someone saying something about it being on PC.

OP: Being a multiplayer gamer to an extent, I'm confident that DICE know what they're doing when it comes to combined arms combat, which is everything Battlefront was about. Just don't make it first person.
