It is a simple, yet telling question. How much do you cook your steak, and why? Do you eat it right off the animal, or do you throw it into the sun for a few days?

I myself go for medium rare. It has a good blend of juicy rareness, combined with the texture of something that has actually been cooked. A steak to be proud of.

Mmmmmmm...

Throw it on the grill just long enough for it to stop mooing.

I want it cooked pretty close to well done, but you gotta love a juicy pink center...

Medium rare, all the way. Never understood people who get a steak well done, whats the point in even having a steak if you're gonna get all the flavor grilled out?

Well done.
Thinking about eating steak rare makes me feel ill.
I just think it tastes better well done.

Now I'm hungry. :(
There's no food in my house!

Inb4 I hate bloody steak. That isn't blood, that's myoglobin. Totally different.

OT: Medium rare.

Lovely and juicy.

Can't see the point having it well done. Waste of good steak if you ask me.

This.
I used to enjoy it well done but my boyfriend's a chef and he has conditioned me into having my steak a bit more rare.
He's a food snob though, according to him well done steaks are for pleps.

Medium well. I don't like anything below that. Too damn chewy. Doesn't matter how "flavorful" the thing is if my jaw falls off :)

Well done. Even a tiny bit of pink on a steak makes me feel sick so I always cook it until its slightly burned.

I'm partial to a nice pepper steak myself.

Not too picky though. So long as it's dead I'll happily eat it.

Medium Rare, just like that. I like my steak juicy on the side with crunchy fat on the outside.

Medium Rare. And if you're a master of cooking and somehow make the outside crunchy while keeping it a nice pink then you are a god in my book.

Blue rare. I guess the closest answer in the poll to that is raw and bloody though it's not exactly accurate.

The rare side of medium-rare. It has to be juicy and it must come apart with little effort. With it I'll usually have grilled mushrooms, thick cut chips and some brown sauce for them on the side. And a couple of pints of bitter.

That's the perfect steak meal for me.
