I'm talking about those big cathode ray tube TV's. Anyone here still forced to use one? I was until quite recently. I'll never forget the days of trying to read small HD text on an SDTV. *shudder* So for anyone who still has to use one for whatever reason, I greatly sympathize with you.

I haven't used one of those in over a decade. The moment LCD TVs were out I was all over that.

A friend of mine still has an SDTV though. Both of his parents are doctors and they don't watch TV so they don't see the point of getting a better TV. That's actually the primary reason he's a PC gamer, because he doesn't have access to a better TV.

Yes, but "use" isn't the word I'd use. "Have" would be more accurate.

I still *have* a CRT TV, but I don't *use* it, since I don't watch TV anymore.

Nah, I've been using HDTVs for about four years now. I can't go back to SD after that.

I've sometimes thought about buying a small CRT and hooking up some retro consoles to it, but I don't think I have the room.

I have one sitting in the corner of my room, but I haven't used it in 3 or 4 years now. HDTVs just look a ton better, and when you have a nice big one, you won't touch a CRT unless you HAVE to.

I've had an HDTV for around 4-5 years now.

I played my all of my 360's life and a quarter of my PS3's life on an SDTV.
It was not fun most of the time.

I got rid of my SDTV when I got my HD one, and now I'm kicking the HELL out of myself for doing so because I can;t play Frequency anymore.

There's one in the flat but it barely gets used theses days, if people want to watch something they just use the projector.

Kind of, I got one in my room and the only time I used it is when I'm on my Wii (which is almost never now) or watching a DVD (again never since my PC can do that).
Of course my bro keep telling me to get a HD TV already but I don't see the point in buying one when I'm not going to use it (I probably will buy one at some one when I do get back to watching TV since at the moment I got no live broadcasting in my room since it doesn't got that cable needed to watch it).

"Sort of" for me.

I haven't had a TV since i moved out of my parents house. That would be around 8 years ago. (I used to have and use an CRT-Monitor though for a long time - they were crazy cheap when LCD took over)

Still don't have a TV, but when i am visiting my parents... my old TV is still working there *g* in the guest-bedroom.

No I upgraded to HD a few years ago and I couldn't go back now.Trying to play games designed to be played on a big HD screen on a 24" SD tv was not fun at times especially if it was a game with lots of text

"sort of". The main TV in the livingroom is HD-ready (720p), but I never really use that one.

The television in my bedroom is a small SD CRT tv, I use that about once a week to watch the news or some sports. That's mostly because I "live" behind my PC and my PC is in my bedroom.

PS. Yes the entire apartment is mine, but the livingroom is only used when there are visitors...

Both. A LCD set for modern consoles and the rare time I watch TV and a small CRT for retro stuff.

I had one for almost all of my time with Xbox 360 and around a year for my PS3. Finally the AV cables broke and my parents bought me a LCD. I've had it for about 2 or so years now, or whenever Fallout: New Vegas came out.

I occasionally bring out the old one if I have a friend over, but usually we just use mine and the big TV downstairs.

Nope, although our main TV in the family living room was one until summer this year. A smaller one I've used for gaming since for years though has been HD, albeit a fairly cheap one.

Nah, haven't used one for 4 or 5 years. I would never go back to that. Big, clunky, heavy, and inconvenient to use.

I would be were it not for the availability of retro console adapter cables. I haven't watched tv properly in about a year though. It's not even connected to any kind of receiver.

I've moved past TV's completely. Since moving out I didn't see the point in paying for a cable bill when I never watched TV. I just use my computer as a home entertainment system. When friends come over we all sit on the couch and watch a movie/play games from my computer.

I have one, but it doesn't get used at all. I keep meaning to plug the PS2 in, but I never get around to it. It also can't be used as TV for some reason. It won't get a signal.

Nope. Its been about a year or two since I got an nice big HDTV as a birthday and Christmas present.
I still can't read the absurdly tiny text in some games and I can't really tell the difference between an HDTV picture and my SDTV's picture.
I also have pretty poopy eyesight however.

I do notice that my retro games look worse overall on my HD. Really makes me wish I kept one of my smaller SD ones.
