I'd go for the beasts because they are not likley to betray me, they get the job done most of the time, they are almost untraceable, can't leave much evidence like fingerprints (only DNA and who is stupid enough to make a DNA bank for all animals and do you know how much it would freak out the enemy.

I'm of the 'do it yourself' variety. Pretty much because I'm a perfectionist, and I tend to have trouble anyway at trusting my colleagues to do things to the high standards I hold. This is kind of a slight problem for me sometimes, since I'm something of a creative type, so when I'm working on something as part of a team I get frustrated at lack of progress, and when I'm making a film I usually want full creative control (which for me means writing, directing and editing) - fortunately, those three are the areas of film-making I'm most interested in anyway. Nevertheless, that could be a slight issue for an evil genius to have to deal with, but even so I am firmly in that category.

That being said, I would never need minions to do my bidding, because I'm not the sort of person who would have a big plan to take over the world or some such nonsense. I'm one of the smart villains, as it were - I'd use a much more subtle plan, without needing to be exposed at all. I'd use various techniques to manipulate my foes and anyone important to do my bidding, play mind games, and generally try and turn my enemies against each other. No need for any of them to ever even see me or have anything to do with me, when I can make them think some poor fool is the real mastermind and then turn them to infighting and tear them apart that way...
