So I just got back from the hospital AGAIN. Had to get damn toe surgery for the 2nd time in 3 months. Ingrown toenail.....damn things aren't they?

Well anyway, I was thinking. Have any of you guys(The Escapist) ever gotten surgery done? If so, what was it on?

Oddly enough the last procedure I had done was...

for an Ingrown Toenail, thankfully that could be performed at the doctors office and I didn't need to go to the hospital.

The only other surgical procedure I've had was when I was a baby.

Mhhh..I got my head stitched twice, does that count?

OHhh..I've had half of my front tooth surgically rebuilt after I broke it diagonally on the sidewalk...

Oddly enough, for someone who has gotten into more accidents than you could count, if you were Stephan Hawkings, that's my full experience with surgical procedures.

Doesn't it suck though? Doesn't hurt when it's getting done, but hurts like a ************ when you get back? And, yea I'm very glad that it can be done in the doctor's office.

having only one kidney, i've spent a lot of time in hospital and have a fair few exploritory surgery scars. my favorite time was when i was 9 i had my appendix out, but i didn't have apendicitis, it was an inflammation of the glands around my appendix, presenting symptoms very similar to that of appendicitis
EDIT:
I've had two ingrown toenails

they suck hard

I had surgery on one of my tear ducts when I was less than a year old.

Edit: I also very recently had my wisdom teeth removed. Best part? Prescription Vicodin. :)

Many times. Lets see... I've had my Adenoids removed, polyps in my sinuses removed, removed again, pins in my left arm, two teeth surgically re-aligned, cyst in my sinus removed, polyps again, Wisdom Teeth (which a lot of people get), and, most recently, Brain Surgery to remove a small and benign tumor. And I'll probably have to get polyps in my left sinus removed again. Oy.

First and foremost, almost all my toes are ingrown, and I play rugby so my feet are constantly stood on.

But I had surgery (sort of) when I cracked my skull open, but they only glue it together, as I was young, and it wasn't to bad

I had oral surgery to remove eight impacted teeth from the roof of my mouth. My mouth was too small for all my teeth. I had 32 stitches all over it. Man that sucked monkey balls. Then I got to have braces for three and a half years after that. But at least my teeth are straight.

I have also had dozens of stitches all over my body in various places, but that is the only major surgery I have had.

Yup...

4 ingrown toe nails
4 wisdom teeth removed
A number of random stitches
And to top it all off...
A left ingroinal hernia, yes, my intestines decided to share the same space as my gonads. I created a rather large tear in my abdominal muscles and they had to actually cut me open to fix it (most hernias can be fixed laprosopicly), so I have a nice 7" scar across my groin area. My wife calls it my Frankenpenis.

Enough sharing?

Well, I did get my fingernail sewn back on after it (and a large git of my finger) was caught in a door.....

It was certainly rather a strange feeling, but I don't remember it that well as I was 4 years old at the time.

I did the same thing with my surgery. Ice cream and video games for weeks. SWEET!

I've never had any surgery (not even dental!), although I think I might need to take drastic action to stop one of my toenails from becoming ingrown myself. I will say that I will NEVER get plastic surgery, as it goes against my personal ethical views.

Surgery I have had:
1 'Artificial' skin graft onto my arm. Most painful thing ever afterwards, will try to avoid getting sprayed with boiling water in future.

1 Circumcision. Less painful than you might think. Caused by slicing my penis open on a snapped bicycle seat tube.

8 stitches to my forehead. Cause by the accident that came shortly after landing on a sheared aluminium tube.

Been into hospital for many other things, but none of them have required actual surgery to fix.

4 surgeries for ingrown toenails. The last two saw my outermost nail roots removed, that's a problem that won't be coming back.

also had my skull fixed up once, was just done by a doctor though, so not sure if it counts.

I had a few stitches in my head when I was really young. Long story short: chain fences are not your friends.
