I don't think most of you get it or even understands why it's so dangerous. For people that a perfectly healthy already it's just like a normal flu. But for me, who got Asthma it's deadly. I'm not kidding, it's deadly for people with chronicle diseases like Asthma, Diabetes and the likes. The flu itself is not dangerous, it's the fact that it makes your other little flaws go berserk. If I get Swineflu and don't see a doctor withing a fair amount of time I'm as good as dead. I've talked with the doctors and it's the harsh truth about it.

So don't you naysayers go around and say this ain't dangerous. And for the love of god, if you get it. Be carefull of what you do, even though it doesn't affect you that much.. It might kill someone else if the get infected.

You guys might mock me and say it ain't that bad and that it's nothing to worry about. Then I'd like you to actually read about it other than in your flashy medias and read what it actually does ^^

The swine flu was never anything more than a fear tactic by the government. Fear mongering really says it.
Sorry that you got the swine flu though, if you're not already fine as of now, then get better soon.
I've now known about ten people to get swine flu and was trapped in a house with two swine flu sickies for a week (strangely eough I got tonsilitis. Go figure) and everyone was fine. No one died, no one was ill for more then seven days. We survived.

I can't help but think though, for the UK at least, it came at a conveniant time. Anyone heard anything about the expenses of the MPs recently, on any mass media transmission? No, it was all about Swine Flu. Now it's all about America hating the NHS, and all that talk of money being used badly is being crowded out.

Anyone else for a conspiricy theory?
Someone once said to me something that caught my attention: "If two different presidents of differing political parties go into presidency, and yet things still do not improve, then there is a good chance that there is a conspiracy". Perhaps there is not, but it really got me thinking differently.

Needless to say, I lol'd.

As for Swine Flu, I think it's just hype. A lot of the panic is coming from how many deaths have occured in Mexico. One of the differences though between England and Mexico is that we have much better health care. I have very high doubts of it doing anything seriously bad to the population if we just kept to our normal ways.

The APORKalypse is coming. You have been warned.

Swine Flu can be easily treated with Oinkment just as Bird Flu was treated with Tweetment.

But is this due to the Government's action or was H1N1 just a kid's disease that they did a Madagascar [http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll100/CaptainFailcon/SHUTDOWNEVERYTHING.jpg] on?
I got that one; and I did laugh. Oh yes.

You might have to go to the Hogspital though.

Also, puns are the lowest form of comedy.
Don't get me started. I have a whole bag full of swine flu puns :)
This topic has quite a lot of potential for puns and play-on-words, with you being a Time Lord, the World Health Organisation's acronym being WHO, and WHO employing Doctors, plus who rhymes with flu...

If you managed to get all those factors into one sentence or paragraph, the sheer power of the punage may tear a hole in the very fabric of the universe if too many people read it out loud.

Sorry to hear you have Swine Flu though, hope you get better soon.

Hope you get better soon. But couldn't you just travel to the future and get the cure for it? What with you being a time lord and all...

well those who say it was "government engineering" is just stupid.

Furthermore, the fact that America has made comments about the NHS has nothing to do with it. They just ignore their poor who can't afford their healthcare. Where as in the UK, it's free for all.

Swine flu was thought to be more serious than it actually was, the english government at least admitted this and said it would now not try and control the spread but just treat those who are at risk, but most people are fine to stay at home and get over it the same as seasonal flu.

I think people who feel this is a conspiracy theory or what not should maybe go to China and say that to someone who couldn't afford a vaccine for Bird Flu. Not everything is a conspiracy.

Isn't it classed as a pandemic because of how widespread it is, not because of it's killing capabilities ?

Day 3: And it's actually upped the ante and confined me to bed (Laptops for the win). Still not convinced it's a REAL disease though. Confining me to bed sounds more like granting wishes, although I am drinking half a barrel of water.

Overall, slightly worse than chicken pox, but not even reaching a cold's annoyance.

Pandemic decease simply means that it has pandemic potential, it's not what it does, it's what it can potentially do.

The definition of a pandemic would state that swine flu is one, if only by virtue of its global spread. I think people are muddying the whole thing a little much (especially with barnyard puns, Root, delicious as they are) because they're scared, which is rather predictable as a human response. I also think that much of the resources places are pouring into this could be better used elsewhere such as in HIV/AIDS research which is a serious pandemic especially in parts of Africa and Asia. It's a fowl situation.

But for the topic, I agree. Just like this 'Recession' that doesn't seem to exist over here, Swine Flu is an overhyped load of crap.

I made that joke constantly on Facebook.

On topic, I wasn't really concerned about swine flu at first, but since there's an outbreak in my area and three friends of mine got it, I'm slightly more concerned. I may or may not have gotten it, though, and if I did it's no worse than a bad cold. One of my friends said it was very bad, however.
