Poll: Swords vs. Guns

Curious what everyone thinks about this. I have this discussion with everyone I know at some point in time, so I'll just get it out of the way. Personally, it's sword all the way, everything about it is skill, but I want to hear everyone else's opinon one way or the other.

Lets be honest, swords are a fantasy. You go up against anyone with a gun you will end up dead or with a few more bullets in your diet.

guns are faster, but swords are more dramatic, and cool... XD

so i'd go for swords really but i'd probably be shot anyway

Guns frighten me a little in real life, but in games, fiction, fantasy, etc, they can be bloody awesome. Shotguns are 'badass'.

Swords I like too, though I'm more fussy about them. Zweihänders, for instance, I think are beautiful, but I find katanas boring.

.. tl;dr, I love'em both.

Now, in an actual fight, guns would win. Sorry, but as much as I love swords, and as skillful as they can be, honestly. One good shot, long range, and you're gone. One could argue on 'it depends on who goes first'.. but I can't be bothered.

You can't compare them really, one can strike from a range and another can only hurt you in close quarters, unless you try any of that sword throwing nonsense.

I guess I'm a softie for swords 'cuz they're so cool, and I wish it wasn't so easy to kill someone nowadays, and it makes my fencing skills count for shit.
Swords will always be epic shit though, and I want to invent the sword that makes guns obsolete again

I personally prefer shotguns that can shoot swords with bayonet that discharges bullets anytime I stab someone
