To be honest... I hate the idea. Could you call it TF2 if you had big titted women running around, carrying equipment that far exceeds their own bodyweight? Sure it would be interesting to see what they come up with, but being honest, it just sounds like a bad idea. Besides, why would you want to replace the team that we all know and love?
Why do you think they're taking so long to make a "Meet the Pyro" video? They're arguing wheather or not to put him under a sex change for the fans. Maybe.

Its not like it would be something difficult to do. Valve and theyre boat loads of cash could have it done almost over night. Its just a button, a few lines of script and some new models.
But i have to check the "depends" option. Because while i feel its something they could easily do, its such an old game that i dont think its super important at the moment.

To bring more players into the hobby, simple. Team Fortress 2 is a lot of fun, so would you like more people to get into it, or less? But first you've got to realize my argument isn't "sex sells". No doubt if Valve designs a squad full of athletic women warriors, there'll be a lot of folks who'll think they look hot. But that wouldn't be, or shouldn't be, the point.Rawne1980 said:

Attracting more women means attracting more players, which is good for both existing players and for Valve. Valve gets to sell more licenses, and players get an expanded fresh blood supply (figuratively speaking).

Girls couldn't hurt, but I figure the main reasons are two-fold: Guys don't like killing women and it's twice as much work in terms of creating character models and voice acting.

Females would be overpowered. Note that each class has their own unique hit boxes. If they add female characters they'd either be smaller than the males and subsequently having smaller hit boxes making them harder to hit and therefore superior, or they'd be the same size as the males which would present aesthetic problems.
Don't speak too soon, the pyro might be a female. On the other hand, it would be extremely cool to have an all girl version of the game, though it would lose some of its humour.
Valve went out and said, straight out, that the pyro is definitely not female.
So yeah, its a guy.
