Also, might i remind you all that minecrafts at this stage is supposed to be a survival game, and it completely fails in doing that. I just think that minecraft would be so much better if notch would have waited to sell it.
Go play a new world on minecraft on hard mode and then come back and tell me that you can easily surviveGustavo S. Bull, Notch is still working on "Adventure mode"Senrab said:Terraria is simply what Minecraft should have been. When I bought Minecraft it was during an early build where Notch still had his original ambitions of developing the game beyond just a sandbox builder. It was supposed to become a big RPGish adventure game with unique landscapes and special monsters to fight. That never happened. Terraria does this and more in simply it's release build
"Adventure Mode" was supposed to be some kind of secondary mode without building. I'm talking about an actual "survival mode". In the current version of the game, you build a dirt hut and nothing can hurt you. You can build a huge castle, but really its no more useful than any other structure, it just looks nice. I like how Terraria gives us something to work for, ya know?Dr Jones said:Bull, Notch is still working on "Adventure mode"Senrab said:Terraria is simply what Minecraft should have been. Explain how Terraria directly copy pasted Minecrafts features, just in 2D.Aeshi said:Hate to break it to you Terraria but simply taking an existing game and removing a dimension isn't actually innovation.
I got terraria late last night and thought it ws pretty much the same as minecraft, till I looked at the wiki. I can have handguns, (a rip off of a) lightsabre, a few spells, nades, harpoon, grapling hook, morning stars and a bunch more stuff. I was quite blown away by the stuff I could get.jpoon said:Haven't played terraria and I do own minecraft. Judging by what I have seen of both I feel comfortable in picking minecraft as my preferred game. Terraria looks interesting for all the weapons and such but damn I like the 3d of minecraft for the building, makes it much more intersting I would think.
