Fallout.

Why? The setting. Post-apocalyptic retro 1950s America Vs the most generic and unremarkable Tolkien-esque fantasy world I've ever seen.

Fallout is my favorite for sure. TES is.... it's not bad, but medieval fantasy just isn't as interesting to me as it once was.

Tough choice... though I'll go with Elder Scrolls, since I prefer TES's combat over Fallout's. But that only applies to Oblivion. Morrowind's was shit. But then so was Fallout 1 and 2's. TES therefore still wins.

It was TES, until New Vegas. Now it's basically even. New Vegas was enough to sway me from the annoyingly bland green/grayness of F3. If they're going to make a game where a lot of it is exploration they could at least make it look appealing.

I'm a sucker for The Elder Scrolls and its lore, that and I prefer Fantasy over Science Fiction. TES: Oblivion was just one of those games that I just picked up and never put down, I replayed it constantly for about 2 years. Having said that though, my interest in Science Fiction novels is increasing again, so, it's a relatively close decision.

... Well this is a tough one, I like both series.... I'd have to choose TES based on my play time for their series...

Going as far as to tatoo the Brotherhood of Steel logo on my stomach, I'd have to say I'm a Fallout kind of guy.
The new 3D-Area aside.

...Though New Vegas was kinda good.

Fallout. Oblivion's leveling system is broken and dumb. Morrowind's difficulty curve was just this side of unplayable for a beginner.

Not saying TES is bad by a long shot. Even with their flaws they're great games. But not a hard choice for me.

Big a fan as I am of both, I choose Fallout without much difficulty. It's just a much more poignant and better-developed world. Better writing on average, as well.

Fallout 3, first off, it's one of my favourite games of all time, mostly due to mod-ability and general freedom, but I also dislike fantasy settings, so TES is at a disadvantage.

Comparing Oblivion to Fallout 3, the latter wins.

Comparing the overall series, TES is better as a whole. Why? I'm not a big fan of fallout 1, 2 or new vegas.

Well, I liked Morrowind and Oblivion better then 1, 2 and new vegas. They were okay, just not as incredible as 3.

I started out with Fallout, back on a crappy gateway with windows 98.
I have a very strong nostalgia factor with the Fallout series, so it'd be my first choice. But I have had equally great experiences with the Elder Scrolls series.

I prefer TES over Fallout, love them both to death but TES wins just a bit more, mostly because of the variety to combat, sure in Fallout you can use melee weapons... but why would you want to. Can't wait for Skyrim on Friday. :D
