When I clicked this, I expected an article about an annoyed shopkeeper throwing the Jedi guy out because he kept saying "I do not have to pay for this." while waving his hand around over and over again.

Jedi religion? In England? Seriously, I know there are some morons in the UK but this is ridiculous even by our countries standards.
I don't see how it's any more retarded than any other religion...
I've explained this in my later posts but in a nutshell: other religions are a.) official and b.) have principles and meaning.

Unfortunately, Jedi is a real religion.
The second guy in that linked story is the guy from this topic.

i own this coat but i would always remove the hood in a store, i wouldn't attempt to list goth as my religion and be a dick about it.

besides, jedi is not a religion, it was a paramillitary group specialising in policing. it wasn't a religion so much as a knightly order.

though the temptation to wear my hood up and my jenova's witness t shirt is almost too much to bear, they're imfringing on my rights as a sephiroth clone!
I can only guess that the the urge to as 'What're ya buyin'' is overwhelming.

This. This is why we need to implement Asshole Laws. When someone is blatantly manipulating loopholes in laws, we can ignore it.

Religion or no that man was wearing a large hood that concealed his face, which is against store policy because security cameras can't see his face and identify him on cctv should he commit a crime. Being part of a religion dosent excuse you from the law or the laws of a shop. Period.
Your argument is nullified by the Muslim woman who was wearing a birka and veil. If he gets kicked out for that reason, so does she. He was, but she was not.

If they ban him for his hood, Muslims should be banned for the whole black cloth over their face thing. Just because a few million people believe the same thing doesn't mean they should get it easy.
QFT

Not in a anti-islam way by the way, more in a pro 'wear your boxers on your head if you feel like' way.

As stupid as it sounds, no.

But that nut job is distorting the very meaning of Star Wars, Jedi's never had to abide by an explicit dress code. This is not a serious religion, what it is is a puffed up fan club of losers!

Really, the guys a four star bell end, since it is for all intensive purposes a made up religion, i.e made up by the utter nut balls who have a serious issue separating so so written sci fi western from the real word that means their ARE no actual laws or rules to dictate the religions behaviour beyond what technically was in the movies.

I have seen all 6 movies and I can't remember the scene were Obi-wan said act like a dick end and wear your Jedi man cowl all the time. If he is citing religious bigotry on the part of Tesco then it is because he has made up the rule that he has to wear the hood all the time in which case the guy is more pathetic than... well someone who follows a religion based off some so so movies.

Why do we as a society give these vacuous nothings the time of day. Fuck off and crawl back under whatever rock it is you spend most of the time jerking your lightsaber under.
To be fair i'm well aware that this whole thing is a load of bollocks :p but he is actually the 'leader of the first Jedi church', so if anyone has the right to make up a rule its him. If the pope decreed all Catholics must wear hoods, i'm willing to bet Tesco wouldn't stop them from entering the shop :p

And besides, all religions are made up to a certain extent, not just this one. I mean, unless you can honestly tell me that every last thing in the bible is fact, including the things that have been proven wrong then you cannot insult the Jedi religion ^^

And I must stress that I know this is all a load of bollocks and that I am not actually a follower of 'The Jedi faith', I just simply got bored and decided to poke holes in a comment that made me laugh xP

I don't want to be the one that comes off as intolerant, but the previous three movies weren't even that good. I find it hard to swollow that Lucas has marketed the Star Wars universe to such a level, that a faith has formed around it. I could only expect that the values of the Jedi path are practiced (good thing), as opposed to worshiping a bronze bust of George Lucas (bad thing).

It's hard to take the concept of the Jedi order seriously in the Real World-- serious enough to call it a religion. I have enough disdain over how hard the Star Wars Cow has been milked, and this does not soothe the irritation. But as long as good values (Jedi) are being practiced, I suppose it's not all bad. Just... ridiculous is all.
