Really, the guys a four star bell end, since it is for all intensive purposes a made up religion, i.e made up by the utter nut balls who have a serious issue separating so so written sci fi western from the real word that means their ARE no actual laws or rules to dictate the religions behaviour beyond what technically was in the movies.

I have seen all 6 movies and I can't remember the scene were Obi-wan said act like a dick end and wear your Jedi man cowl all the time. If he is citing religious bigotry on the part of Tesco then it is because he has made up the rule that he has to wear the hood all the time in which case the guy is more pathetic than... well someone who follows a religion based off some so so movies.

Why do we as a society give these vacuous nothings the time of day. Fuck off and crawl back under whatever rock it is you spend most of the time jerking your lightsaber under.
I whole-heartedly second that. I admit it was funny for a bit when I read the paper about it but the whole 'Jedi Knight' religion thing is just so mind-numbingly stupid! Why!? The ONLY reason the Jedi always win is because the Sith can't stop bickering amongst themselves like spoilt obnoxious homicidal kids for long enough to wipe them out so why are Jedi glorified like this?! And what are they gonna do? Use the force to telekinetically snap the necks of us 'blasphemers'? And even if it were somehow possible, you're not allowed because that's a 'Dark Side act'! HA!

I like the witty comeback by the Tesco spokesperson though: "Yoda, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Luke Skywalker all took their hoods off without falling to the dark side".

What on Earth next? Vulcanism?

Damn it people Jedi are not our enemies!

Scientologists are the enemies of all decent people. I'd rather see a Jedi church before I see a scientologist one. Eventually I hope the UK follows Germany's example (track record doesn't support this, but oh well) and ban the con artist cult from the country. If anyone thinks I sound prejudice, I've experienced these people first hand, and any amount of research into their so-called religion will have you thinking the same.

As for store policy; if he wouldn't take off the hood, he should have been asked to leave. Bear in mind the muslim covering is NOT a hood, and doesn't infringe any written store policy. It doesn't have anything to do with religion.

Doesn't that apply to all religions? :)

The Jedi religion is about as believeable as an invisible man in the sky who created the universe!

Instead of harrassing this poor chap who takes Star Wars too seriously, they should have kicked out those women in burkas. They should seriously go home if they want to wear a curtain over their heads, I would get imprisoned if I made my wife wear a curtain and yet these muslims get complete immunity from the law. What a poxy fuckin religion.

1. Jedi's can remove there hoods. I've seen it in the movies, I know.

2. What kind of Jedi boycotts a store? That sounds like a Sith move to me...

3. The religion is obviously small, a boycott from that select group isn't going to do much.

They have no right to throw him out of the store. If wearing a hood in public is a part of his religion then i say he has his rights to wear it.Even in Tesco.

Ummm.. this is The Sun, which I thought was about as reliable as The Onion. We don't have it over here, so I might be wrong.
You aren't wrong. The Sun is just like the National Enquirer and other such tabloids.

No it's informative. It just informs in a very condescending and pornographic way.

Religion or no that man was wearing a large hood that concealed his face, which is against store policy because security cameras can't see his face and identify him on cctv should he commit a crime. Being part of a religion dosent excuse you from the law or the laws of a shop. Period.
Muslim women in veils... not to stereotype but I think the only reason they're allowed it because they are afraid there will be some manner of bombing.

Ohh this makes me sad...

Jedi as a religion, really? Okay, fair enough a bunch of people put it on their censis forms for a giggle, hell, last time I put Norse, but going around wearing the gear and actually having a church.. That is fucking insane. Perhaps he should put "Total nerdism" on his next form..

I would of banned the guy from my store as well, you don't walk into a shop with a hood on. If he claimed it was in his Jedi religion, I would just laugh at him, really hard!

If they ban him for his hood, Muslims should be banned for the whole black cloth over their face thing. Just because a few million people believe the same thing doesn't mean they should get it easy.
The burka is part of Saudi culture, it isn't a religious requirement. The sooner people know it and spread that knowledge the sooner we'll be able to get the bloody thing banned.

THOUSANDS? Do your research. Islam is the youngest mainstream religion about, I don't know an exact year but between 400-600 years old

I don't your grammar's correct.

Back on topic, the hood shouldn't have been a problem in store where people can wear face-concealing veils.

I'll advise worshippers to boycott Tesco if it happens again. They will feel the Force.
That crashing sound that just resonated around the world was the combined force of a thousand people falling out of their seats laughing.
I would've guessed face-palming, but I guess yours would make a louder noise. ^^

By the way, a bunch of people putting "Jedi" on a census does not a religion make. http://www.snopes.com/religion/jedi.asp

On-topic, this guy is an idiot. First for claiming "Jedi" is a religion, and secondly for doing that, then being out-nerded by the Tesco spokesman.

Nerdy, perhaps, but I think some Christians are downright psychotic and I allow them their cannibalistic rituals all the same.

Further, I knew that "Jedi" was a religion prior to this story, so I have a somewhat stronger pretense under which to think tesco mistaken in his/their actions.
