You both might find some degree of explanation in http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/subcultures/my-little-pony-friendship-is-magicKaleion said:...I was gone from the internet for about 4 or 5 months and BAM! suddenly everybody loves not only ponies but My little pony, seriously I was completely confused...
To be fair, there's been a few more than a few MMOs based more on social aspects than combat. Besides which, I don't think the universe is that poor a choice to base a combat MMO around, it at least has plenty of giant monsters that like to eatChappy said:I just cannot see how this would work as a MMO, what would you do in it?
I haven't and before someone says to, I don't care to watch the show but from what I'd imagine of a MMO what would the players grind towards? Skills? How would you introduce combat or something to aspire to how would the players compete against each other so the game doesn't stagnate? I'd be concerned about it's lasting appeal.
Sorry to the Pony fans but in my opinion I can't see this happening or being a worthwhile investiment of time or money when other MMO's will eat it alive.
I don't really care nor judge but I'm just saying that after being gone for 4 months (I mean I didn't even checked my e-mail once) from the internet it was really weird that everybody was talking about My little pony I literally thought I was in the wrong site, but then I asked WTF happened that suddenly everyone loves MLP?! and then someone answered and I was like Ok, cool! And of course I didn't watch it but to be fair the ONLY tv show I watch is The Walking Dead, I would watch Game of Thrones too but I don't have HBO, so I'm not really going to go out of my way to watch a cartoon about ponies, but I'm fine with people liking it though it's still weird how much people keep referencing it on the site along with Star Wars, Star Trek, Lord of the Rings, War hammer, etc. it just seem a little out of place but I'm sure I would have a laugh watching it.lithium.jelly said:But it still even puzzles some of us who are into it. We think "Hang on, why the fuck do I suddenly love My Little Pony? Eh, never mind, I only have two more weeks to wait until Season 2!"

The other show I'm looking forward to in the coming months!Kaleion said:The Walking Dead
There are some pretty obscure MMOs out there which are going strong. An MMO doesn't have to be a huge AAA title with subscription fees and thousands of players; anything with persistence and more than 64 simultaneous players will do.viranimus said:Is the Bronie fad strong enough to merit and support a game with as staggering a risk vs reward scenario as an MMO?
